    In Western North Carolina,

2-A - West Henderson - Pruitt and Grant return
    3-A - T. C. Roberson - Jackson, Ramsey, and Wright return
4-A - A. C. Reynolds (though down somewhat - T. C. R. beat them last week in fall ball 8-0 and Jackson didn't play; Ramsey pitched a three-hitter - think Reynolds' Hinson had one of the hits.

3-A - South Granville will be a serious contender for the 3-A Championship

4-A - Northern Durham will be the suprise team in the PAC VI with Pete Shankle at the helm. I predict they will be in the state title picture within the next five years.

Gotta speak up for West Henderson here. 7 starters and 8 full time players off of a 24-3 team. All the pitching returns.

    Top Teams in 07

    East

    Manteo 1A
    Princeton 1A

    North Lenoir 2A
    Whiteville 2A

    Rocky Mount 3A
    Northern Nash 3A
    CB Aycock 3A

    Fuqua Varina 4A

There of course will be other teams that will challenge in these classifications. But based on returning players talent and coaching my hunch is these teams will be very good. North Lenoir will be gunning for a third straight 2-A title. They will get the best challenge they have had in those three years from a very deep and talented pitching staff at Whiteville HS. Fuqua has some kids that alot of people have not heard of. They will be well known before the year is out and they will be very good next season. They went to the finals of the east with at least half the varsity squad not playing. They have one of the best 08 players in the nation in Cam Conner. This kid will be one of the best to ever play at Fuquay before he is done there.

"Though down somewhat"..... well, Reynolds is actually doing very well, 6-1, with just 1 loss and that was to TCR. Ramsey did a great job on the mound for TC and ACR's defense was definitely lacking.

And Runion will be pitching w/them now. However, and no offense to him, the starting pitchers to date have done extremely well, with 3 shutouts (1 being a no hitter), and allowing 13 runs (8 of those in the TC game - yuk). ACR's offense has scored 31 runs in 5 games including 3 homers (wood bats remember). (1 game was a forfeit)

The fall team is missing some players due to football but they will only add strength to the lineup when spring rolls around. And, the holes are being filled by JVers who are getting great development opportunties by being able to play in the varsity wood bat league.

I'm thinking top 2 in the NW4A in 2007 being:

    1. South Caldwell
    2. AC Reynolds
