Daniel is one of the most respectful and one of the hardest working young men on and off the field, any college that he chooses will get a great student athlete.
He has great family support and his dad is one of the best hitting coaches around.
    See ya soon !!!

A few of Watauga's 08's to look out for:

Ethan Moyer- performed great as a 3rd baseman last year, expect big things from him at 2nd this upcoming year.

Eric Breitenstein- im sure most have heard about him. Pretty much an all around competitor. LF

Tyler Moore- had a great season pitching jv last year for watauga, we will see how he does on a varsity level.

Trey Dunnigan- had a rough sophomore season but expect results from this kids bat

Daniel Baker- should be a big help to the Watauga offense this upcoming season

Fine Young Man / Fine Family

Daniel Coffey is a very hard working young man who really loves the game. He is outstanding at third base and at the plate. He hits the ball really well, especially against better pitching. He will be a strong hitter in college. Great student as well, very focused young man.

Here are a few more names under the radar:
    07's:
    1. Rakeem Lewis (Southern Vance): Conference player of the year as a junior. Solid Athlete.
    2. DJ Scott (Bunn): Good infielder. Solid bat. Hard to fool him at the plate.

    08's:
    1. Jacob Dixon (Roanoke Rapids): Good pitcher. Solid bat with some pop.
    2. Nick Short (Halifax Academy): Solid hitter with pop in his bat.
    3. Justin Blue (Roanoke Rapids): Great Range in outfield. Solid arm.
    4. Xavier Macklin (Nash Central): Great overall athlete on the diamond.

These are just a few names from the area North and East of Raleigh that I had not seen posted yet. I am glad to see so many posting from areas that are often overlooked. There is so much talent in this state. I am glad everyone is trying to help get that fact out.

Xavier Macklin won't be overlooked for long. The kid is an absolute stud. You will hear a lot about him if he gets on with a showcase team next fall.

    SWR/Post 45 CF Marsh commits

Scratch the unknown on Marsh. Someone knew. SW Randolph High/Randolph County Post 45 centerfielder Ethan Marsh has verballed to play at Mars Hill College. I understand for his chosen field of study, combined with the school, the coaching staff, and an awesome financial package he didn't think he needed to look any longer. Mars Hill is getting a good one.

    Chatham County (?) 08s

While I'm not familiar with the players (but will try this spring), there have to be some top ballplayers coming out of Central and Northwood. Though they play at a "lower" level (2A), these guys can play the game.

Daniel is a fine player and person. I enjoyed the opportunity to watch him this past summer!

Played first last year but should catch for the Trojans now that Jerrod Faggert has moved to the next level.
Good bat and strong arm. Faster than he looks at 6' 1".

    Some more 07's

Probaly mentioned already Hunter Wrenn Roxboro Person. At least 6'5 LHP who just keeps getting better. This kid has tons of upside folks. His best baseball is ahead of him he should have a big senior year for the Rockets. Legit mid 80's stuff and will probaly throw upper next season. I really like this kid he is going to be a good one.

Elliott Tolley LHP Roxboro Person. Great controll and command of three pitches. He knows how to pitch and is a great competitor. These two guys are going to give the Rockets a chance everytime they take the hill. Both are guys that will end up on someones roster at the next level.

Im sure Coach Evans can give us some more details on these two guys. Most teams would kill to have one legit lhp Steve has two.

You college coaches that read and post here should really get out and take at look at these two kids this year. I have seen them several times and they are very good.
