Who are the talented 08/09's that will help their HS teams this year and in the future? Good sticks, Pitchers, Position players, Base Stealers, who's out there to keep an eye on down the road?

Stick to the books, grades, grades, grades are more important now than 08's & 09's. To prove the point you "steal" a base and it is not made of "steel".

    actually......

research is key when beating some one up for a mistake, you might just make one yourself one day. base= steel frame with plastic covering:fight:

Corrected, thanks for the spell check. I guess that puts me in the majority with all but one kid in the National Spelling Bee. Kidding aside, grades are of up most importance. Since this is a BASEBALL thread, are you saying there not any 08/09s that will stand out?

    08's to watch

Keep your eye on Edmund Gravely 1B/Rocky Mount Academy. He led Nash County in HRs last year (9) and led Post 58 in HRs (3). Was out most of late summer/fall showcase season recovering from surgery, but came back strong in last 8 games batting .470, .652 ob% and .941 slugging%. Big boy with a good eye for the ball.

Jeff May - Catcher - South Granville....solid offensively and defensively, great arm, good kid.

Tyler Hanover - MIF - East Forsyth....gritty, hard working, good range, good hitter. The type kid you want on your team.

Jordan Darnell - RHP - Audrey Kell....6'4 ish righty, already good fastball and breaking ball. He should develop into a top notch pitcher.

Alex Robertson- right handed pitcher mid 80's throws 3 pitches for strikes, great presence on the mound.

Sammy Lucas- middle infielder, good speed and range, swings the bat well.

Chris Sanders- catcher, great receiver, blocks well. can hit with some power.

all three have room for improvement but should develop into very strong players. all three played on the southwest little league team that made it to the little league world series.

Dave McConnell- lhp and outfielder good speed and arm. has great potential.

David Morgan- rhp outfielder great speed plays basketball. great potential

these 2 also played on the little league world series team

If there's a better 08 Catcher in the state..... oops there isn't one in my book! Jeff May is a bonafide stud. He can play the game.
