    My reasons exactly!

It isn't a bias towards a team with a dominant player as much as it is a means to reward an entire team of good players and entice teams with dominant players to develop more good players.

Yes - You are correct; NC does limit the number of games. That is why I'm afraid the "series" idea would not work. A conference with 9 teams would have to play 24 conference games unless they divide their conference into 2 divisions.

Every HS coach I know of does not allow playing or practicing with any other team during the HS season

    it'd be tough

going to a series of conference games would be very taxing on pitching staffs. right now we are limited to 12 innings per week for our pitchers. thats a good rule and doesn't need to be changed. in fact i think softball needs to go to a pitching rule.

some of you guys are at larger schools, so let me give you a 1-a school's perspective. we normally have a two starters, a closer type (normally throws hard but only in spurts), and a couple of other throwers. if i had to start putting more under developed kids out there the games might take forever. and consider i'm in a good situation here. there are many other small schools in way worse shape, no jv team, only 10-13 kids in the entire program.

i will never play on sunday. ever. if the rules ever change i won't. sunday is family day. my family takes a backseast to everyone else's kids 6 days a week. plus i happen to be an area with a lot of mormon kids and i would never want to put them in that kind of a position.
