    I had someone inquiring of me about the Mars Hill baseball program. After responding I thought I would post the request here for others to respond as well.

    In short coach Taylor has made tremendous strides at Mars Hill and has really turned that program around. I expect to see great things in the future from them, including becoming a challenger for the SAC title.

    Further Insights

    I would definitely be interested in further insights as well. What kind of recruiting class did they have come in this year, who has committed for next year, etc. Any upgrades to the facility in process? How's there money situation?

    I don't know about their entire class, but former Watauga second baseman Devin Presnell is part of the current freshman class at Mars Hill.

    Different Philosophy

    Hey coach, you have to have the complete package to win titles. St. Louis defense did not win the W.S. for them, it kept them in games where Detroit's did not.

    Defense keeps you in games... Offense wins them!

    They do a very poor job of recruiting their own back yard. I wonder why such a lack of mountain players on their roster? Seems like it would be a good fit for players in this area.

    I am very impressed with the Mars Hill baseball program! I have never seen anyone recruit our area any more than coach Rembert. Coach Taylor has really made huge strides there. Devin Presnell absolutely loves it there. When they complete the renovations to the facility it will make a huge difference. I would not hesitate to send a kid to their program!!!
