Hey,got an idea that I think would be fun, the boys USSSA Tournament Travel Teams have 2-3 wood bat tournaments every Summer... I went to one of them over the Summer, and it brought back memories...Why don't Howard or somebody put on a wood bat fastpitch softball tournament next Summer, I think that would be fun for the girls to experience softball in a different realm....Thoughts ????

    yes

I understand about for the fun of it; still don't think it would be much fun seriously to attempt to hit pitchers throwing 50-60 mph with a wooden bat.
maybe have a "slow-pitch" tourn. for fun w/ wood bat.

Maybe I'm missing something here in what you are trying to say...but what is the difference in hitting baseball at 80 mph from a 14-15 year old and a softball at 60 mph with a wood bat except for the surface area...please educate me ????

the lengths would be the same as composite bats....you probably could get a 33" or 34" or 35" with 23oz....Guru

    just

only point I was making was that at most competitive girls' fastpitch softball games I see with top-notch pitchers throwing there is little hitting ; lots of K's, a few grounders, maybe a few fly balls here & there and a few base hits mixed in. the pitchers dominate even with metal bats used. so with wood bats it would be even more dominance by pitchers.

    not comparing to baseball.
