The State Games of North Carolina and the NCFSCA are proud and honored to announce that an East/West All-Star game in Softball will be played on June 22-24, 2007 on the campus of UNC-Greensboro at their beautiful new stadium. The 3 game format will feature Seniors from the class of 2007. Also, there will be an eight team District tournament featuring Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen from the eight districts of the Coaches Association. Special thanks to the State Games of North Carolina for recoginzing the importance of our sport in high school and to the NCFSCA for the hard work in bringing this dream to a reality.

Now, what will the girls choose..... all-star game or TRAVEL BALL. I say travel ball since everyone says TB is so much better than hs ball.

Great news Coach Rivers ! Thanks for all the work you folks do. I'll say this. If my daughter is fortunate enough to be selected, she will choose to be at the All-Star game.

    News

Great idea, this is the week after Dynamites Classic and I believe that is the weekend of the Woodstock ASA A qualifier. However, only the Blues and Cardinals have attended in the past. Good luck I hope most of girls will attend this all-star game. :twocents:

Since the All-Star game is for 2007 graduates, most of the girls playing should have already committed and/or signed. So playing in a showcase tourney is not as important for these young ladies as it would be for the '08's & '09's.

June 22-24 is the weekend just before the Independence Day tournament in Boulder,CO which begins on June 26th. So for any of the '07 Cardinals or '07 Blue's who are fortunate enough to be selected, they will be available to play. This also means area college coaches should be available to attend as many of these coaches also attend the Boulder tournament.

This will give the college coaches a great opportunity to see how their recruits compete against the best in NC. For those who may not have signed, this will also be a great opportunity for them as well.

The Cardinal's have already qualified for the ASA Nationals so they would not need to play in a national qualifier that weekend. Hopefully the Blue's and any other team that is looking to play in the nationals would have qualified earlier or at least have plans to play in the ASA State July 6-8 in Cary.

This game is long over due and Pop and the NCFSCA should be commended for getting this done for the sport and especially for the young ladies who will play in 2007 and the years to come.
