I assume the normal 6:30-7:00 timeframe.

Wow! Can you say "Mighty Lady Titans" for years to come? Those freshman are impressive, Kelsea Greene looks stronger, Ebonique looked smooth, and Kurie never stepped on the court. Burns is very weak, but I think this team will be really good.

Both JV girls (50-12) and Varsity girls (54-34 I think) won over Olympic in Charlotte.

Varsity made it to 2nd round states last year, look good again if they can stay out of foul trouble

East Burke -Newton game postponed (NC still playin football) so I caught the FHS opener - EB, TCR, and ACR were there scoutin.

My take...Ford just runs the show-everyshot looks like its money, passes even more and if you're open she finds you, and is more disruptive as a defender than I remember from last year- after a big lead asheville actully came back and took a 1 pt lead, then I think Ford had 6 points and 3 assists in about a 2 minute period and it wasn't close again.
There is another Jammer(aau player) frosh starting...last name Connelly. She contributed right away, caught passes defended well...she'll be a candidate for the NW4A 's best Freshman.
Morrison still shows flashes of dominance but then disappears for stretches. IF this team commits to rebounding and Ford stays healthy, I would say they have a chance to win any game they are in...second group of guards are a little shaky...and lastly Surratt gave a senior effort, made the easy shots and made the extra pass which she didn't last season against EB....I think TCR is their next game and Roberson will be alot better than Asheville,so a real test is coming.
The Cav's have 6 games the next 2 weeks and 2 of those are Hickory, so Burke's teams will need to get it going quickly this year.
Saw the McDowell score...WOW...but Burns is traditionally the worst team you can possibly schedule other than maybe a private church school ...so I doubt they learned anything from that one.-JMO

    Lopsided score

I guess it's ok to beat someone "real bad" in basketball. McDowell beat Burns by 81. I sure hope everyone played for McDowell. The subs should have played the entire. No one should in yelling about this like Charlotte schools did when Central beat West Charlotte 55-0 in softball. I know a lopsided score is unavoidable at times. I am not trying to start trouble with anyone either. I only wish Char-Meck schools would get the facts next time before causing a stink.
