got to see my second game in 2 night's and here's my take on it.
Coach Murray is underated. We really don't have outstanding basketball talent, and no 1 great player but his rotation of about 12 girls where they all give him what they have for a couple minutes at a time is unique to watch.
Hickory was better at every position and couldn't shake'em off.
I'm sure early foul trouble was a factor -I think Hickory committed the first 8 fouls of the game and backed off their pressure some.
Hickory must have looked alot better than this at the scrimmages at FHS, I had read where people thought they were the BEST team there! They didn't show that last night.
about EB, I think we'll see a similar scenerio to last year...they can stay in games and if they hit the shots toward the end (like they did vs. McD and FHS-they'll win) Maybe not having an outstanding player is our greatest asset (like Gravel, Helton, Westmoreland was) Teams will not scout us well, cause there's really not a specific place to call a strength.
(As opposed to the FHS game I saw 2 night's ago-- where teams will try to key on Ford & she still put up 29)
If you saw EB play last year then expect more of the same...not that quick but disciplined enough to hide that thru good passing. I'd say this is a 8-4 or 7-5 conference play team. If Efrid and Huffman get the knees healed maybe a litle better. JMO

    EAST BURKE HOOPS

I AM IN TOTAL AGREEMENT WITH YOU. JAY MURRAY IS PROBABLY THE MOST UNDERATED COACH IN THE NW4A. EVERY YEAR, WITHOUT THE BEST TALENT, HE FINDS A WAY TO WIN AND BE COMPETITIVE. I AGREE WITH THAT 7-5, 8-4 MARK IN THE NW4A. BY THE WAY, HOW DID COACH ANDERSON DO IN GAME TWO. DID EAST BURKE WIN THE MEN'S GAME? THANKS, MK

I think coach silver is. It has been a long time since he has had a loosing season. No matter who he has it seems that the team always seems to have a winning season. He also is the winningist active coach in the state of NC.

Give me a freakin break, Coach Silver isn't underated, he does very well with the most talent and has to be the least humble coach in the state...don't believe me ...ask him..he has never missed an opportunity to tell people how good he is. Wasn't one of Mcd. losses last year to EB???..and the talent pool of these teams aren't close!
He deserves the accolades but this topic was UNDERATED coach murray.
