WOW...watching the game I would have never thought Ebonique had 22 points. Good test for the Lady Titans. East Rutherford played their normal slow down tempo against us and that 2-1-2 defense on the small floor always gives us fits.

I got to see the Lady Rockets for the first time last night as they took on Erwin, and I must say that the two Freshmen starters (Karlee Taylor and Whitney Brinkley) looked very impressive as they scored 14 and 13 respectively and Karlee took care of the point position extremely well for a Freshman and Whitney played well inside and didn't look at all like a Freshman out there. Also Amanda Whitaker played well scoring 19, while Taylor Loven chipped in with 13 as well. The Lady Rockets will take their lumps this year, and it will be somewhat a learning process with the Freshmen and new players that didn't see much action last year along with the new coach, however by the end of the season they should come together and have improved greatly. Winning the conference or even second would probably be a stretch, but come conference time I wouldn't take this team too lightly as they have some talented girls.

As we mentioned last night, Dan, I think the difference was Ward adjusting to the speed of a "real" Varsity game. I think the others will adjust, too. Great leadership by the older players.

Glad to hear that WHS cracked the win column last night. Maybe we can keep it going into Ashe next week. I sure hope so.
