    Seniors

You guys know that there are 7 (I think that is all) returning seniors, most of them didn't even start last year, and they are all 3 and 4 year players. There is quite a bit of talent there!
I'm sure that he has seen the boys at the open fields.
As much as I like Coach Bagwell, change may be a good thing. I'm glad that he will be running the 8 men so he can see what he does have.

As a senior at south now, and as someone whos lived in this area my entire life, i have grown up around sabre baseball. I watched and admired the program as a kid and in middle school i counted down the days until i got to cross the street and have my chance to play. As mentioned earlier i belive, coach bagwell would always know who was comming into his program. He would have see them play and known them all before they even stepped foot on the campus. However 8 man workouts are not for everybody. Usually they are only for the players that could have an imediate impact on the varsity squad that year. This being said, usually every friday was set aside for an open field so anyone could come out and show the staff what they had. Now with the change in coaches and staff, there have been alot of changes at south. Yes there were just open fields during football season although anyone who wanted could say afterscool and workout and i know alot of the older guys took advantage of this. Now that football season is over there have been the more traditional 8 man workouts with coaches present and instructing. This year more then any other since i have been at south, alot of the younger players are getting to participate in these, and YES this does include a few freshmen that are out there. However the younger group does not get the time the older guys do and if there lucky they get 2 days a week. All that aside, days where you are not included in the 8 man workout, your are expected to attend a conditioning session where anyone is welcome. This is just my take on things as person who was there before and now after alot of the changes have been made.

Thanks for the info. Don't know anything about a open conditioning session. Coach hasn't sent out any e-mail messages that said that that was available. Again, when I personally send him an e-mail about the workouts, he responded, "that all new comers and freshman will not be invited and will be looked at in February". All this inquiring is not about the varsity only, but has he forgotten about the JV team as well? Very, very frustating when you seem to not be able to get a straight answer. Don't want to come across as an ass, but just looking to do what is right for all the freshman and new comers!
