    McDowell Girls

I am new to the area but my wife is a McDowell Grad and a true fan. I have heard alot about the Lady Titans and have enjoyed watching them thus far this season. I spent several years as an assistant coach for a small college in Indiana(girls basketball). I look forward to the remainder of the season. I think the Titans are a well coached team and play very well considering they are not a very deep team, and have only one player that you would consider a for sure future college basketball player. But, the one that they have is something else. If you have not seen the Washington girl play, you should. Good luck Lady Titans.

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
I respectfully disagree, and it's not necessarily with ACR's placement either.

I can't help but wonder if the win over McDowell vaulted Roberson to number 1. I mean they are 3-2. Anyway maybe our girls will play better when they come to the titan dome.

The only thing I question is putting Smoky Mountain at #2? Granted they are 6-0 and they have the future Lady Tarheel on the team but who have they played? And how would Smoky Mountain fare in a game against Roberson, McDowell or Erwin?

BTW: Smoky Mountain will be playing at this year's Glaxo tournament in Raleigh. That may by far be their toughest competition of the season.

Just my thoughts, based on what I have seen....

    Smoky - Overrated
    McDowell - Underrated
    Erwin - WAY Overrated
    North Buncombe - Underrated
    Asheville - Underrated

RR, would you kindly list the starters for ACR this year? I don't know who's on all the teams. I know about Ford and Hobbs, and I think yall still have Whitaker and Roberts?

Also, if anybody can list the starters for East Burke, I would be grateful.

Smoky Mtn is extremely overrated as is Degraffenreid. McDowell did lose to TCR so I can't really complain about the ranking but McDowell should be #2 and for that matter when it is all said and done they will be the #1 team in the West

Back when she was a Freshman, I believe, I remember watching Smoky Mountain play against Asheville when they were still in the same conference. She pretty much kept them in the game, they led for awhile, and didn't end up losing by too much. This was in the second year of Asheville's 3 in a row State 3A championships, she is something else.
