I agree, thanks for making things clearer. But the bottomline is coaches who are not members of the NCFCA cannot be considered, but these coaches players can be.

From what I hear, there is a lot of confusion among coaches, players and parents about how all this works. maybe a memo from the NCHSCA & NCFSA would be explaining things in more detail is in order.

    Thanks again for you efforts.

You are correct with your bottom line. Every Head Softball Coach in North Carolina was sent an application form from the State Games of North Carolina. On the form, it lists two requirements for consideration:

    1. Complete form and send back to State Games.
    2. Be a member of the NCFSCA, or join the Association.

I am not sure where the confusion part comes in or where it is the memo you referred to needs to be sent. but I will post on the Association website to try and clear up any confusion.

Is this only for public school players or can ANY school nominate a player?

    Good Question!

Players from private schools are eligible. Our Constitution states that coaches from private schools are certainly welcome to join as members of the Association in the District in which their school is located. The same requirements for private school players as public school. Once the coaches are in place, coaches may nominate players for consideration as a State Games participant. Thanks for your question!

I just don't understand it. here is an example,

there is a caoch that goes undefeated and wins the state in their classification and has been coaching for a long time and is very respected by everyone and just because they do not want to join another association they will not be able to coach in the all-star game, eventhough they are an ALL-STAR coach. So you are forcing them to join your group if they want to coach in this game. Sounds a little like a UNION. "You can only coach in my all-star game if you pay me".

Another question, if a coach has no seniors on their team should they even be considered for the all-star game coach since only seniors will be on the teams?

Another question, how will umpires be chosen for these games, by how they performed during the year?

Here we go again. Can am and others. PoP has worked his self to death on the association and the State games. By the way all the respected coaches have had alot of input on the topic and joined the association at the same time.Respected coaches both East and West have voiced their oppinions to get the ball moving forward. You folks get on here and want and want and want! So when someone works for it lets see what we can do to help. I have talked to alot of young coaches who are excited to get into this association to learn from those older coaches. Evidently you've not seen the good that the Coaches Baseball Association has done for kids. Also the coaches know the kids in their area's at every level that can PLAY. A union , I guess you might say that: how about a bond of folks to get out there and work for everyone. By the way it cost alot of money to be a member of the NCHSAA and some schools don't even pay the fee. To be a member of something in a sport you believe in for kids is special. All Star teams, I sit at ball parks all year watching alot of people coach them every weekend and through the week and wonder what qualifications these people possess and every time the good coaches win out.At a school you don't get to pick the hand you are dealt. The thing I admire most is POP has came back with a class response with every question. Why, Because he is a class act and runs a class organization.I saw him at the State tournament talking to all (did I say ALL) coaches at every level asking for input. So let's all get excited it's December not May. So if we work hard we can get the right girls. By the way Homer 3 ,I have already brought your DD's name to one of the association coaches as a pick for this game.

    To East of Raleigh

As of right now, according to the timeline that was provided by the State Games, all player nominations must be turned in by March 16th. There is a clause that says this deadline may be extended. I don't know why that was put in the timeline. These people have worked with Baseball for a number of years so I am sure they have a good reason and take on the subject.
