    GlaxoSmithKline Tourney Update

The GlaxoSmithKLine Holiday Invitational tipped off a couple hours ago in Raleigh. Smoky Mountain was taking on Wake Forest-Rolesville in the opening game of the girls bracket.

Last update has Rolesville up 40-23 on Smoky Mountain in the fourth quarter...but the big news of the game is an apparent injury to Smoky Mountain guard and UNC signee Cetera DeGraffenreid. Cetera took a fall early in the game and landed on her elbow. She left the game and has her arm in a sling, hopefully for precautionary purposes. Hope all is well with Cetera. For the latest updates on the GlaxoSmithKline check out their blog in which they will update throughout the day...

UPDATE: Wake Forest-Rolesville wins 73-45 against Smoky Mountain

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
No I wasn't able to attend, however looking at the boxscore it was the 3rd quarter that did us in when Austin-East out scored us 30-9.

    As for today.....

    AC Reynolds 54
    Mountain Heritage 41

I left the Freedom/Madison game with about 4 minutes to go and the score was like 70-47. Freedom was clearing their bench at the time I left.

Ali Ford 25 points, 17 in the first half...

Anybody wanna share any thoughts on tomorrow night's championship game?

Wakefield beat Apex 57-48 in the other girls bracket game down at the GlaxoSmithKline tourney. Wakefield will play Wake Forest-Rolesville friday in the girls championship game while Apex will play Smoky Mountain tomorrow morning in the consolation game.

UPDATE: Cetera DeGraffenreid (Smoky Mountain) has a ruptured bursa sac in her elbow and can expect to be out for two weeks. Cetera was injured early in today's game against Rolesville.

    Yeah, it should be :rock_band:

I think McDowell needs to shore up the D a little, and for Freedom, I think Ford will have to have huge numbers. Kurie usually gets her points. Ebonique Hamilton is kind of the wild card for McDowell. When she plays well, they are tough. I guess the same could be said for Freedom's Brianna Morrison.

    I'm looking forward to it!

This should be a very tough and well played game tommor night. It is hard to really pick a winner.

final was 85-55 Freedom over madison
    I heard Ford had 27.
Thoughts on tomorrow...will Mcdowells Post players rebound and will Ford's teammates be patient enough to get her the ball back after she gives it up???.
I expect Mcdowell will take away her first opportunity to score and if other girls don't wait on her to come open again...it could be long night for FHS. Just don't see enough offense if they don't get Ford's 25+. I'd also say whichever team is able to pick apart the others press will win. Independence had McDowell in a tight spot until the pressure midway in the 4th took over. I personally thought if Independence had used their big 6'3 girl up front against the press Mcdowell would have lost this game, Indy turned it over trying to dribble thru lots and was outscored 15-0 at one point.
    round 1 --2morrow night 7pm
