Starting a brand new 5 is called trying to get the regular starters from playing complacent and accepting that no matter what they do nothing will change. He was hoping to keep the starters from thinking, ohh i start and no matter how bad i play i will still start. It was trying to send a message to the starting 5.
Thats why coach dixon does not read this board.

Until we get some more talent and experence we are going to win 3-4 games not change coaches. Except when Watauga had the Wake Forest girl under Coach Wright when have we ever been good at womens basketball? (NEVER) Its because most of the girls who play focus on other sports more than hoops. We just need to accept that the better girls athletes at Watauga are going to spend more time on volleyball. We are amazing at volleyball because of it. If your expecting WHS to change coaches mid-way through this year or even at the end of this year think again. Everyone besides the delusional few sees that Dixon is doing the best you can. He will coach at least through next year.

The lady i thought i saw look like Coach Wiiliams-Johnson (definitely not Hatchell) was dressed in Carolina warm-ups, if it was ...she heads their recruiting efforts at UNC...would be interesting to know her eval of Ford/Washington.
My memory tells me the last UNC player from NW4A would have been Tasha Davis from Marsha Crump's state champion team.

I have no say, and nothing against you tman, but people telling these girls that they don't care probably does nothing for their confidence or their will to try hard. They are working, as is their coaching staff, to succeed, even with a challenging schedule. ACHS is a much improved team, and deserved that victory.
I just don't think that anyone except the girls can say they they have quit trying or that they don't care anymore, ya know?:

I agree totally. Unless you are a player or your kid is a player on VARSITY, don't talk about people not caring or that we should just pack up the season. This team is pulling through a very tough time in the history. I think the unrealistic expectations that have been put on this team have hurt it.

In the past few games they have been without starting center Kelly Cherry-Leigh which has hurt the rotation and the team defensivly. She will return tomorrow night.

We need to band together and support this team. Not plot to distroy it. This is the seniors last run through the conference, lets support them and make it the best it can be.

Who put the unrealistic expecatations on the team? The coach, correct?? He should not have been saying that they were going to be good and win 50% of the games, if they were not going to live up to it! To be honest they probably should have won that many. They should have beat AC, ACR, EB, SC, Ashe, Mitchell. That is 6 more wins!

I will not comment on players individually on the board, but their defense has not been bad the last few games. The offense has!

I am in full support of the girls succeeding. I just don't know that they are being led in the right direction.

The defense was bad against Reynolds. Offense was bad against East and Alexander. The offense put up 71 on Reynolds. Just gave up 84.

I think it is admirable that we are not making negative comments on individual players. They are just teenagers.

However I do feel like that not having your normal starting center has been a big factor the past week and a half.

This team is inconsistent with their shooting and defense. One night the shooting is there defense isn't and then visa versa. This team mirrors last years football team in my opinion.

No longer getting blown out as much but still struggling offensivly and not winning games.

I know Watauga girls basketball has no Eric Breitenstein but look what Snow did after that. Im sure people were calling for his head too. I think we are a year away. Look at the most successful teams at WHS. They are the teams with tenured coaches. Coaches who we stick with tend to be the most successful. Look at baseball with coach hardee, soccer with coach kidd, track with coach mac, and even to a certain extent volleyball with coach pryor. Football can't get a coach to stay longer than 3 years. Maybe thats why we have been so bad for so long. Now that Snow is here and is building a program we will be alright.

Ohh, well. I have somethings to do before basketball tonight.
