    Clarification

Let's not get confused here with the organizations we are talking about. The NCFSCA joined with the State Games of North Carolina to bring a high school softball event to their games. The State Games run from June 1st through June 24. The are a tremendous amount of athletic events going on during this time period. We seem to be bringing the NCHSAA into the mix and their organization does not have anything to do with these games. The "State" that Coach Sherrill was referring to was the State Games of North Carolina, not the NCHSAA.

Thanks for making this clear. This is really good news then and should help the cause of getting the dates changed.

Things the NCFSCA have learned about!

Growing pains, learning process, different graduation dates, beach trips, travel ball conflicts, scheduling, facilities, availibility of facilities, on-site coordinators, groundskeepers, ticket takers, concessions, restroom facilities, scorekeepers, scoreboard operators, public address announcers, applications of coaches, selection of coaches, announcement of coaches, nomination of players, try-outs for 8 different regions plus tryouts for two All-Star Teams, selection of players, notification of players, practice for all teams, travel concerns, hotel accomodations for players and coaches, schedules for play, awards and much more I'm sure. This is our first time at bringing an All-Star event and underclassmen tournament to the high school girls. There are going to be conflicts, and there are going to be issues, and the young ladies, coaches, parents, and the many fans are going to have an awesome time. But, we have listened to the concerns that have been posted and as Coach Sherill said, these have already been addressed with the State Games. But for now, here is where we are and our Association is going to continue to work hard to make this a great experience for all involved.

oh this process that Pop has so eloquently expressed to us is exactly what happen to bring fastpitch softball period to our young female athletes back in the early 90's and it is Definitely a learning curve! with all the networking/communicating tools we have available today and now a Coaches Association...great things are truely happening in NC Softball, a few steps at a time.

thanks for sharing with TBR Softball.

    Looking better!

First and foremost, we are in this issue together, at least from my standpoint. From a "Senior Games Coach" standpoint, I have submitted the proposal which I think will have a win/win situation. Pop has been in the process too. We are looking at playing the best two out of three on Thursday at 5,7 and the if game at 9pm. I hope this helps. I appreciate the positive input from everyone.

All of the State Games will be held at UNCG, including the underclassman groups. I do not know the situation involving the State underclassman game times and dates.

    Still working!

As Coach Sherrill has stated, we are working with the State Games today on his proposal. The emails have been flowing today back and forth. Not set in stone as of yet, but making progress at possibly avoiding the conflicts in at least the East/West All-Star game. We will keep you posted on how things are progressing.

Pop and Coach S.....what are your thoughts on the regional format, wouldnt those players also be in a "little situation" as well? This regional tourney is a great opportunity for all involved. Thanks Guys!

Well, we (16-U) purposely scheduled around these dates. I just hope the selection process is good, and I hope some of our players make it. Great job, guys!

    We parents second that!

Coach Lance is not only a Class-A coach he is also a Class-A person. Our daughters have been extremely blessed to be taught by one of the best! Good luck to all the Senior girls as well as the underclassman who participate! {and I know that the "powers that be" will work out all of the timing issues}:woohoo:
