A pleasant good afternoon from gorgeous Boone North Carolina. 3 teams will say goodbye to their senior class this evening while 3 teams will try to spoil the affair.

[/FONT] Watauga @ East Burke (Senior Night)
South Caldwell @ McDowell (Senior Night)
Freedom @ Alexander Central (Senior Night)

Watauga looks to continue its hot shooting and its winning ways as it goes on the road to East Burke. A team the Pioneers have not defeated in 8 years. I predicted this would be the Pioneer upset not Tuesday, so I hope for both. McDowell will win the outright Championship tonight while Freedom needs to rebound.

T-minus 2 hours until departure for Conelly Springs... GO PIONEERS, GO SPARTANS, and GO PATRIOTS tonight.

McDowell will host senior night for 2 players that are the epitome of that program. Bethany Dages averages probably 4 points per game, but works hard to make her team better. She is my favorite player, and living proof that you don't have to be a superstar to make a contribution. Little Jessica Smith embodies the same characteristics, and adds a sweet stroke from 3 point land. If any young girls out there want some advice on what it takes to succeed in a sport, I would ask these 2 first. I doubt there will be any huge upset tonight in Marion. I believe the other players will give their best effort for their upperclassmen (women).

Very well spoken ladiesbballfan...as far as tonight's game goes Bethany pretty much did what she normally does and that is getting the boards, scoring when the chance is there and just overall solid play. Jessica had a lot of shots that were in-and-out tonight, but she continued to play hard moving the ball around and playing good defense. This may have been the last regular season home game for Jess, Bethany and Mallory, but if the three have any say in it, they have bigger and more meaningful games left in Titan Gym this season.

Undefeated Hickory puts up a century mark on the road in Lenoir tonight, beating winless Hibriten 108-32.

    Ouch.

freedom beats ac by 30+ pts. ac lead after 1 17-16. freedom was up by close to 40 and still pressing and running half court traps! even put ford in very late in the game when the end was never in doubt.

jarrettfan, is there any way you can find out the actual score? I was wanting to get the pick'em conest standings online before I retire for the night.

    Freedom game

84-50 Freedom wins going away. And btw... Coach Fox seems to be working on some things after the last few games so she played SOME of the starters late in the game . Isn't that what your SUPPOSE to do when your team has been flat and your trying to find a combination that works? What wasn't said was the fact she also had 3 or 4 freshmen on the floor at the same time as well so it wasn't about running up the score as some would love to imply. Bre had an amazing game-- scored 31!

Yea, that's what you do if you're trying to make sure your star gets her points after only scoring 11 in the game before. I don't think anyone would have thought it was a good idea to "find a combination that works" if Ford would have gotten hurt in the last minutes with Freedom being up by 30 or more points. I don't think coach Fox would ever put a players health in jeopardy but sometimes you just need to forget about stats, get the win and let some of your other players play.
