NW1FAN--Did ya see the game or are ya not paying attention, Ford played probably a little over half the game and had 22 pts and I'm pretty sure didn't score the last 4minutes. Morrison scored at will and everyone else just fed her the ball.
BTW -Ford did have two 4 pt plays--first time i've ever seen that in a game.

No I didn't see the game. I was responding to jarretfan and tman's post. They both suggested coach Fox was playing her starters after being up by 30-40 pts. I'm sure coach Fox had good reason for this, but it would sure be a shame for one her stars to get hurt in that situation.

okay boys and girls, we need to let this rest...

I understand the complaints of some people on this issue...if its a 30 point game in the 4th quarter then very few if any of the starters have any business on the court. On the otherhand, if you are a coach and you have been struggling like Freedom has it is tempting to try to work different combinations on the floor.

FHS, Ford was out of the game b/c she got in early foul trouble. I was there watched the entire game....No you dont want your players to not hustle...but with 4 min left and leading by 30+ Ford and 42 were getting the ball and going straight to the basket....that my friend is running up the score and padding stats.....

    Who Cares

So what if Freedom continued to play hard for 32 minutes. They have been on a slide or as Big Dan said a "meltdown". Now a good hard played game by the Lady Pats causes panties to get in a wad. Freedom looses games and everyone laughs, Freedom wins by a little and everyone complains, Freedom wins big and everyone cries. Get over it or get better. Simple as that. What have we not had this discussion about McDowell when they torched AC 101-40 or Burns 109-21 or RS Central 101-47 or Burns 104-23.

Had i seen the other AC games where they were beaten that bad and felt the coach was running up the score I would have made my opinion known....this isnt personal against Freedom as I dont really care....it is however about class and sportsmanship...something which the Coach at FHS lacks...IMO....and a few others too.

I was at the game and Coach Fox was subbing players in and out of the game every 2 to 3 minutes.she was using different players on the court at different times.Coach fox does have alot of class and is a good coach. It aint her fault they could not stop ali and bri the whole game.

FHS, you are missing the point. Subbing players is fine...but your 2 best players were in the game with less than 4 min left and they were shooting at will, everytime 42 got the ball she was going to the basket to try and score....that could have been stopped by 1) taking her out of the game 2) the coach having enough class to tell her to stop and just run the clock out....neither of these happend.

42 ended up with 31pts....8 to 10 of these came in the final 4 min. That my friend is stat padding.

Good or bad-- depends on the view

:invasion: Couldn't have said it better! It's not surprising the comments bashing Coach Fox comes from parents and fans that don't have a child playing for her. Her focus is on Freedom basketball and making her players better as a coach should ... some will like her some won't but being a parent with a vested interest I wouldn't trade her for any other coach in the conference. Now that we all have had our say and we agree to disagree lets get back to the rest of the season!
