Well I don;t care who it is but when a 4 year starter is gone and someone else comes in then you will hear "I sure hope she can fill the shoes of the last girl". I do agree that everyone plays their position their own way, but if it is not the way the coach wants it to be played then it is wrong. Lets just take any infield position, if you do not pivot the way the coach says or cover the base just like the coach wants or just your starting position is different than what the coach teaches then it is gonna be a long year. It is hard for the kids to play HS & TB for different coaches and remember which way each one wants the position played.

I don't really understand what you're trying to say, but catching their pitcher is a very difficult job. It is also extremely important. She's had the same catcher since 9th grade. Now a new one has to step up. I am very much pulling for one of them to do it. Some people are calling for the demise of KM. I'm saying it's not gonna happen, but shoes have to be filled. Sorry you don't like the ole' saying.

    Correction

believe that Kayla Buchanan has been catching Morgan Childer, Morgan Mayer and Critter since they all were 11 years old. talk about three different styles. KM will sorely miss this catcher!!!!! KM lost a lot last year, both on offense and defense. good kids waiting in the wings though, will be interesting to see if other teams have learned to handle the rise.

Not saying that I don't like Ole Sayings!

Okay I was just saying give the new meat, their shot at getting the job done! Don't count them out before they start! Don't judge a book by it's cover! And all those other good Ole Sayings! And I hope coaches out there are reading this and keep in mind what has been said! And maybe there is a player out there, that we can help figure out a way to handle a particular situation, like having to fill a 4 year starters shoes!
And it is soooo true that every coach has their own way of wanting it done!!! Our DD played TB from age of 10 & U and had learned everything one way and when she got to HS the coach wanted just about everything done a different way! LOTS of hair came out that year!!! Hard to know exactly what to tell your kid for that? We lived through it but we have some pretty nasty scars!!!!
I just want to help someone else coming up, learn from our mistakes, so that maybe they can have an easier road than we did! I wish someone had done that for us!
SMILE WHEN YOU TAKE THE FIELD, IT WILL MAKE YOUR OPPONENT WONDER WHAT YOU ARE THINKING!!!

last year we lost a four time all state pitcher with, what looked like, no one behind her. proved wrong, five pitchers working hard, two have really stepped it up and looking good. we may have lost some great experience, but we'll not be suffering in that department as we thought. youthful team, many freshmen will be on varsity, but many fast freshmen. Hunter Huss will not be last, maybe the middle of the pack. thats as far as i choose to go off that limb, have fallen too many times. lol

The nw4a lost 2 of the best pitchers we have ever had to graduation last year Pierce of AC and Starnes of SC. Who will take their place? I can only speak for AC in that we have 2 capable pitchers this year. One is a junoir and the other a sophmore. I personally think Laxton, the sophmore will be our number 1 but that is just my opinion. How bout it scfan who will fill Starnes shoes

seriously cheeze......with a past 4 time all state pitcher and still near the bottom of the league(know about all the one run games too) and you're predicting Middle of the pack this year? Limbs...branches are fragile. LOL but you know we're pulling for Them younguns though.

Rec Level is where the work is needed. :2cents:
