Okay, its awful dead around considering the playoffs are not far away so I think I'm gonna stir the pot for a while...

If you could take 10 players from the conference (no Player of The Year, just the 10 best) and put them on the All-Conference 1st and 2nd teams, who would they be?

    Here's my take...

    NW4A 1st team:

    Elizabeth Ross (East Burke)
    Ali Ford (Freedom)
    Kurie Washington (McDowell)
    Kristen Hobbs (South Caldwell)
    Ebonique Hamilton (McDowell)

    NW4A 2nd Team:

    Kelsea Greene (McDowell)
    Jessica Smith (McDowell)
    Brianna Morrision (Freedom)
    Emily Pinieda (Watauga)
    Taylor Loven (AC Reynolds)

I haven't seen Watauga, but I would have to throw in either Whitney Brinkley or Amanda Whitaker (or both) from Reynolds (not sure who to pull?). I think the first team you have here is on target

Mine are in order from 1st - 10th!! I really think that Ali is the best all-around total basketball player! I know this statement might cause a :fight:!!

Bigdan, If you could just pick scores this good!! (just kidding) LOL
Actually, I think EB deserves another player in: Brittany Yancey-solid post all year or Madylyne Ross-good left handed shooter.

    Third team?

Both of these ladies are great picks but I think Brittany is a year away from being with the top two teams and Madylyne is really good when she is on but just not quite consistant enough. Thats just my take and I mean no disrespect at all to these ladies. Both have been great all year but this is all conference teams and there are so many great players in the NW 4A.

Reynolds actually has quite a few players that you could throw into the all-conference mix. Brinkley impressed me when she played at McDowell a couple weeks ago, Taylor Loven had that big game down at Freedom and overall is putting up some good numbers and the other freshmen, Karlee Taylor has put up some good numbers in conference play. Reynolds has a nice mix of players and I gotta believe their slip this year into the middle of the pack is temporary.

good points tman, East IMO dosen't have the one or two players that really stick out like other teams have. That to me makes it harder to choose who deserves all conference honors. I personally am biased towards the point guard position therefor why I chose Elizabeth.

From one EB fan's point of view (which I know doesn't mean alot to anyone). All this is just for discussion purposes and I don't mean hurt the feelings of any of the young ladies mentioned in this discussion, because all these young ladies should be proud of what they have done for their repective teams this year. But this is my take on it. Like you said Bigdan not JUST ONE stands out for EB, so the conf. shouldn't take away all honors from EB because they have a good TEAM, they should reward more than one.

Brittany Yancey has played solid all year. No, she hasn't scored 31 points in one game like Morrison but she plays solid EVERY game. She is most likely (I don't know the stats) the rebound leader for EB and is in the top 3 in scoring for the 2nd Place team in the conf.
Madylyne Ross is not only a good shooter, she also brings good rebounding and assists to every game for the Cavs. Her scoring may be up and down but she dont shoot the ball 25 times a game like some of the high scorers for other teams. Over all she is just as big of an impact player as Jessica Smith.
Elizabeth Ross handles the ball most of the time for the Cavs and does a good job of it. She leads the team in scoring, assists, and possible steals (again, I don't know the exact stats). This is for the #2 Team in the Conf. and that should say something.

This is just my opinion on these young ladies and I'm not trying to get them in the middle of a huge board conversation, as their parents may not appreciate it.
