I sure do love riding by the field every night and seeing those kids out there busting their humps in the cold at these 8 man pratices.

I even saw one out there tonight after practice running the field

that was probably One Putt's son.

TJ it will be good to see you up here again. Are the Wonders going to have a good team this year?

I'm not answering for TJ... but they are gona be down a bit . I think they lost Edwards maybe for the season when he was hurt in November playing football.. I havent heard any thing official..
But Coach Thompson seems to know how to get the most from his players and make it interesting...
Hope it's holds true this year...

That was my son and one other freshman. Ragsdale may have just lost a starter in the OF. Big hitter. May have transferred in the middle of his senior year. Don't know why. None of my business. We need him back.

Pitcher's threw live to batters yesterday. Not enough strikes and even less hitting and that's with the batter knowing what pitch was coming. Best thing about freshmen is they become sophomores. I wouldn't talk much trash, I think we are a year or two away.

Wossa, we got some Impact thing today but we will be at the field tomorrow if your son would like to come out and throw it around. Same time, around 3.

Intimidator Coach, Alex will be out for a while. He is going to be on the team, but his rehab is continuing. He will start running this week. Hopefully he will be able to play toward the latter part of the season.

The Ragsdale player mentioned above is back in school. I'm happy for the kid.

That's good to hear Kirk. I hope things work out for him. I know the team needs his bat.

    Ragsdale

Are you saying the next group will be the ones to win a State championship? From what I hear there are several very good seniors on the team but after that, the quality drops off. Seems like there is a great opportunity for some of the young guys. Who are the best young players?

We could have an excellent team at Ragsdale this year. It is a heavy senior laden team with plenty of hitting and defense and one stud pitcher. At least 3 of the seniors will play after high school and they are all good leaders with the young kids. I'm hoping someone can step up and help out Cat on the mound. There are a couple of sophomores that show potential. The freshmen, well, they're freshmen. Peaks and valleys. Obviously someone thinks the team is pretty good. They're picked as pre-season one of the top teams in 3A. Ragsdale also has a bunch of good coaches. I think there are 6-7 guys out there that could be a head coach at other schools. My son says it's better than he ever hoped. Last year's team had holes at the beginning and people stepped up and filled them. Nathan stepped up and filled a hole and did a great job behind the plate, especially for a freshman. Just like last year we have a few question marks this year. If someone steps up and fills the holes like Nathan did we could be very good.

A state championship is a reasonable goal. However the conference is tough. Randleman, Southeast, and Ragsdale are all pre-season top 10 and ER and Asheboro are always tough. And accross hwy 68 SW Guilford is also pre-season top 10. Lots of talent nearby. Regardless, it's fun to watch the boys play the game. They're a good group of kids. My son is lucky to be able to go through school with all the kids, from seniors to the freshmen.
