    Sapp fired????

Gosh - I didn't realize Sapp was out of a job?!?!? I actually thought he was moving to 2nd base and most likely still batting leadoff. Hard to imagine a 300 + hitter for the past 3 years with over 25 stolen bases last year losing a job!!!!

What about the rest of the line-up? Can you give us any insight on those positions??? :help:

    baseball freak,
you are right. holt threw in most of the big games last year. and he may this year. who knows. but i would think between mcbride, jarvis and robertson west has 3 pretty good guys to start on the hill (assuming holt does close). and who is to say that holt will not be a starter on the hill?? to me that is 4 pretty good arms. what big games has carter and keull thrown in?? don't get me wrong i am by no means saying west will run away with it...... davie will be tough, so will mt tabor, east rowan and north davidson. it will be another great year in the cpc

    Quote of the day!!!

I don't think Coach Pope is too concerned about having too much talent. What a nice problem to have. If there is any dissension on the team, it won't be from the players and coaches. It will be outside the fence.

Quite frankly, if I was a supporter of the West Forsyth program, I would sit back and enjoy what should be a terrific year. This type team does not come around every season. Come to think of it, I am a WF supporter, so I will put my recliner up on the hill and pay somebody to go get me my hot dogs so I don't lose my seat.

    CPC Conference.....

No dogs in this fight, but I did get a chance to see alot of these kids this summer and fall. I wouldn't worry about how McBride will handle the big games on the mound. Seeing him this summer in big games, there is no doubt he is a gamer and will handle himself well. Holt, is well, Holt....Big bat, big time hammer. Closer or starter, he is filthy. Lassiter is big time. Heck as a fan or coach, I would sit back and enjoy.

Don't know alot about the other teams in this conference, but anytime N. Davidson has White on the mound they are going to be tough to beat. I love to watch him pitch and he is tough on the hill.

I apologize for my lack of knowledge on all teams, but if I was a fan or parent in this conference, I would love being at the ballfield for any of these games. Knowing some of these kids and reading about others, this conference should be exciting.

West Forsyth should be fine. The McBride brothers should do well. I've been around Greg Holt some, his Dad a lot and his younger brother. His parents did a good job raising him. He's experienced and a team guy. Good leader. I've seen him first hand with kids younger than him and he'll do great with younger players coming in. I see him as a leader in that dugout. Only thing wrong with West Forsyth is there are too many heels on that team for this State grad. ;) Mike Fox cleaned up over there.

Jake Kensmoe pitched 2 innings in the opener on Friday against Bill & Mary. He threw 23 strikes in 33 pitches, no walks, 2 K's, 2 hit's and 1 run. he pitched the last two innings. I'm thrilled for Jake. Here is a kid that never played AAU, Impact or something similar, and walked on and will get probably 30 innings this year. he did not red-shirt. He entered NCSU as a sophomore and will probably graduate in 3 years from engineering. Kid is freaky smart.

    Hey Braves,

I like the idea of sitting on the hill and watching some great baseball with a hotdog, only probalem is we would probably have to send to Chars for hotdogs, I don't know if we can get anyone to leave for that long.

As you said, it is going to be fun to watch.

Have no worries tools; ol' Braves is always prepared. I never leave home without it. And for those of you that have never met Coach Pope at West Forsyth; that's him firing up my grill before one of his games.
