    Cory Tilton 2006 Green Hope NC 5'9" 145 CF/SS SAT 1730 6.94

Wow...if you doubled my SAT it wouldn't reach his total. Does anybody know about Cory? This young man caught my attention. I thought 1600 was the highest one could get, but I guess you can get extra credit...something I could have used :biggrina:

ok..thanks tandjsma. I'm not familiar with the new SAT's. I wish they had them when I was in school. I'd love to go around telling everybody I scored a 1400...and not telling them it is the new score.

If the old SAT measuring mark for athlete's was 1000, what are they now?

There are 3 parts to the new SAT, the third is rammar /writing. Colleges look at verbal and math scores for athletics but admissions offices look at the total score. Top score in each section is 800 (2400 total), so IMHO a score of 1800 on the new SAT would avg at 600 per section, so theoretically that would be approx 1200 on the math/verbal... Still excellent (i wish I had scored 1200 in HS)!!

Thanks Coach...I was debating whether to delete the thread because I didn't want to put unwanted attention to the young man. But it sounds like a 1730 is still a "WOW"...at least for a man with a SC education.

After further research :xyxthumbs:, I have found that Cory just completed his 1st semester at UNCC with a 4.0. Now that's what I'm talking about....
I knew I should have singled out Cory for his academic accomplishments. His parents should be very proud

1730 is good but far from great, I'm a junior in high school and scored a 1750, another friend of mine plays two sports and scored 1900.

Congratulations....but let's hope you can follow this young man's path with a 4.0 in your first semester in college. That's something to be proud of.
