    McDowell girls win, just don't know the score. It was breaking up on WBRM as I was coming down from Black Mountain.

    McDowell 61 East Burke 47

    Good game...East got it within 5 early in the 4th but couldn't over come Washington. She had 35 points and was tournament MVP.

    East Burke played a good game tonight, you just have to give the Titans credit for a little better game. The game was closer than the score shows. East Burke played hard and played good defense for most of the game, they just came up a little short. McDowell played great defense after the first quarter. One thing that hurt East Burke that I haven't seen all year is team work, at times they played selfish and didn't look for the open player on the court. All the Lady Cavs should be proud, you represented your school and community well.

    Good luck to all the NW4A teams in the state tourn.

    Congrats to a good East Burke team...they were by far the 2nd best team in the conference this season and that is nothing to be ashamed of. I hope the Lady Cavs can carry the NW4A tradition next week through the sectionals...good luck.


    FYI: With the win, McDowell's coach Mike Silver has win 647 in his career and is 3 wins away from drawing even with Thomas Jackson (650-398) for 2nd all-time wins. Tom Pryor (702-244) is #1.
