As to the good young players, the only opinion that matters is the coach's. But there are some good sophomores and several freshman. I could see one freshman starting in the field. As to the comment that it drops off after this year, there are only 2 juniors on the roster. So there is a drop in depth but both juniors are good players and good kids. Next year the freshmen and sophomores from this year will have to step up.

Sorry RHSfan. I thought you were directing your question to Wossa. To give an opinion on the best freshman, I would say Ben. He runs the 60 just under 7 seconds and only one other freshman is close to that. He hits for power, fields well, is cat quick and has a big arm. The kid has worked harder on his game than any kid I have ever seen at his age and I'm proud of him even though he is not my son. Like every Dad I wish it were my son but that wouldn't be truthful even though he worked as hard as he could. He can only do so much with football and schoolwork.

To your other question, see my earlier post just above. IMHO I would think somebody has to step up and give Cat some support on the mound. He can't pitch every game like Steve Streater from Sylva did many years back. He actually pitched every game his senior year and went 23-1, losing in the state finals.

    One Putt,

I saw Ben play this fall for the first time and I was truly impressed. He doesn't look fast but man he motors around those bases and I love the way he hits.

You have any thoughts on who will be the #2 starter? I know Tyler pitched some last year and some as a soph. I figure Andrejco could be up there too as a soph.

I'm really looking forward to the season - it's almost here.

Tyler has been throwing bullpens. Coffey and Andrejco are both sophomores and good pitchers. As to who will be #2, i got no idea or opinion on that one. We'll know more in the next two weeks.

JK's brother Mike is a good player. Great glove and always hit's it back up the middle. Good fundmentally. He runs around with that freshman group that have been together since they were 8-9. It's fun to watch them all grow up together. He's at our house a good bit. Good kid.
