I've heard that Dusty Quattlebaum is not playing Legion ball this year for Shelby Post 82. Seems that somebody said that he's playing in the Cape Cod league or something like that. I sure do hate that.

That would be quite a blow to Mike Greyson and the Post 82 team as a whole. I hate that as well. Hes an amazing baseball player and I am sure others share my well wishes to him on his future in baseball.

It won't be the same not seeing him on a Legion field...seems like he has been playing Legion forever.

Good luck Dusty, we will miss you this summer.

Did He Forget To Say "Thank You"

Heard hes not playing legion ball also. Sounds like he has said the heck with those who are probably the most responsible with where he is going. Where is the loyality?? Well guess what......Post 82 will have a team.

The persons responsible for Dusty success are:
#1 Dusty- his hard work and dedication
#2 His family- Their support and putting him in the right places to showcase his talent.

It is sad that people have to take this type of selfish attitude. Can't everyone be happy in the young man's success?

    i agree bbrksfan

i'm sure that the legion experience has helped make dusty a good player, but no more than high school, middle school, little league, etc. just because a kid is moving on doesn't mean he's turning his back on those who've supported him. rather he's taking the next step in his career.

chisenhall and poulk are still eligible to play legion this summer. they are not because they'll play coastal plains league, cape cod league, or us national team. they're not turning their backs on us. they are taking their next step. its whats best for them and we couldn't be happier or prouder.

please do the same for dusty. i don't know the kid. i remember watching him play in the state tourney in cherryville two years ago. best wishes

In most situations, the player doesn't have the option. If Coach Avent put him in a particular college summer league, it's not like Dusty is going to tell him, "Sorry Coach, but I have other plans". You report to where you were assigned.

Isn't the Cape Cod League for Elite players already in college? I don't think you can play in that league until you are an established college player. Maybe someone should ask him where he will play this summer instead of speculating and bashing him for not playing Legion.
