    Here is a thought about the brackets, granted it's 3A, but man is it right that (20-6) North Buncombe has to travel to (3-18) Waddell? I really think the NCHSAA needs to rethink what is going on here.

    that's split classification conference for you...Waddell is the 2nd best 3A team in the Queen City 3A/4A Conference and they get a home game...

    Yes, I understand it's split conference and all that, but it's still absolutely CRAZY that a 3-18 team is in the playoffs, much less hosting a game. There needs to be some sort of minimum requirements or something. I don't know the answer but that is just absurd! So it's fair to punish a 20 win North Buncombe team that plays in a tougher conference? Of course this happened to some of our own NW4A teams as well...

    Call me crazy but I think South got a great draw. From what I heard East Gaston is very beatable and in the second round they could face a Freedom team that they beat once this season.

    Just by the initial glance at the brackets, if there is chance of a Wild Card beating a #1, it may very well be South Caldwell granted Hobbs is ready to go.

    Hobbs did play against Freedom in the tourny, and she had 11 points. I think she will be ready.

    Last week the NCHSAA had East Burke listed as the site for Sectional 3 and 4 final in girls and Gardner-Webb in boys...that was taken off when the brackets were updated yesterday. It might be best to play this by ear just incase of any last minute changes.
