after watching some of the teams in Marion yesterday in the cold this is how I see it

1- AC or Freedom could go either way, AC is always strong but Freedom has really come alive with great hitting and pitching, then Reynolds, McDowell, Watauga, E. Burke and SC but maybe SC will suprise some people they fought hard in Marion.

I'll have to say Alexander is the team to beat this year and I don't think anyone in the conference can do that. After AC it will be a toss up with any team capable of beating the others except ( and I hate to say this ) for us. Unfortunately our program is on a downward trend right now. This year we had the fewest girls tryout that we have ever had. I don't think we had enough try out to have a cut. We also had a couple rising senoirs choose not to play this year. That has never happened here. Hopefully we can turn things around and get the intrest back like it has been in the past. As for the team this year we have some really good players but I worry that they will come together as a team that can compete in the conference. Can't wait to see some good games. Good luck to all nw4a teams. See you on the field

SCFAN I hope things improve for you guys. SC and AC were developing a good friendly rivalry. SC has had some good teams since joining the nw4a and been a contender every year.

South Caldwell had at least 2 senoirs who didn't come back this year, one was a much used pinch hitter and dh last year and the other was the catcher and most feared hitter in the conference last year. The loss of these two will really hurt this year

hate hearing this scfan. i though South played tuff the game i observed and played with heart.

EB's little freshman pitcher looked tuff this past weekend. with some "pitching smarts"(knowing the batters, sequence of pitches..etc) they could be alot better than next to last. imo

I have known “EB's little freshman pitcher” since early childhood. Determined, hard worker and gritty! Should she continue to improve as she has over the past several years, in my opinion, this young lady will deserve a look from several of the more successful travel teams. In any case, we wish her the best.

Speaking of, good luck to all the Northwestern 4A teams this year. Should be a good season!
