Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
    AC Reynolds Scoring tonight:

    Whitney Brinkley - 24
    Karlee Taylor - 13
    Taylor Lovin - 11
    Amanda Whitaker - 5
    Amber Roberts - 3

Looks like the future will be okay for ACR with our Freshmen and Sophomore (Whitney, Karlee and Taylor) combining for 48 of the 56 points tonight.

    OK, I'll take the bait:
reporter, for some reason, you and scfan don't accept private messages or e-mails, but please stop disparaging the softball coach. I don't want to debate this in public, or really anytime, but the coach is a friend of mine. I don't know much about the situation, but I think she works hard and knows the game. I'm not sure what the beef is, but we're not supposed to use this forum to put coaches or players down. Thanks, and send a PM with your e-mail if you want.

SCFAN must not have been watchin much-girl has 1200pts in 2 years and she "finally has a good game"-jeeze! I think I heard she had 30 last night.
Other players making shots is still the X factor going into MCDowell /FHS-Round 5! Neutral court should help
Game is at East Burke 6:30 Sat. too bad it's not the nightcap!

BigDan,I don't believe Butler had seen the kind of defence that McDowell played on them last night. I have never seen a team look so lost. You could look at their fans faces in the stands and see a look of disbelief. Your right this is the McDowell team we have been waiting to see all year.

Let me start by saying thanks to all the East Burke ladies and the EB coaching staff for working your butts off to make this a great season for the fans to enjoy.

    Now for the game:
The first half was a good hard fought half with Indy leading 26-24 going INTO the locker room. BUT during half time the home score keeper had the score changed to 26-22, they had missed a lay-up by Natalie Baker. The EB scorer had the score 26-24 and when the EB coaches got back to the court and proved the score was right at 24 the Indy coach told the refs that if they lost she would protest the game. After some discussion by the refs the score was put back at 26-24 and then the refs took over the 2nd half to make sure there wouldn't be a protest. In the first 1:15 of the half EB was called for 4 fouls to 0 for Indy. Which put B. Yancey and C. Stephens in foul trouble. The EB girls never quite, but just couldn't over come the bad calls and the physical play of Indy.
I'm not taking away from the hard play of Indy, they are a good team, but if the refs would have called a better game this one might have went the other way. We'll just never know because the refs were afraid of the Indy coach.

GO TITANS!! Bring the state championship back to the NW4A.

I would like to congratulate East Burke on fine season as well. They are always fun to watch, one of the best motion offenses around. Indy has that one great player, and the coach can be tough. Thanks for the recap! Did East try any box and 1?

RR, I guess you didn't make the game. I wish ACR could have pulled it out. How did they hold Whitaker and Roberts down so much?

    McDowell vs Butler

Tonync55 - I have a different perspective of the game. Butler has been playing defenses like that almost every game this year. Their offensive output was not the problem - their inability to stop the easy basket for McDowell was the problem. McDowell probably shot 70% from the floor during the game, with the majority of points inside the paint.

Butler has been struggling for points for most of the year and any look of disbelief on our faces was not from the Titan defense but from the Titan offense.

Having not seen Mcdowell ever play, I was suprised at the athletic ability and speed of the Titans at the one, two and three spot. #25 is a very good player, but all she did was sprint downcourt, catch a pass and shoot a layup. She took one outside shot and missed and never had to create her own shot or take anyone off of the dribble. Her points all came off of transistion and layups, which Butler could not adjust to during the game, again because of the athletic ability of the guards.

Butler is the two time defending conference champion while starting 2 freshmen, 2 sophmores, and 1 senior. The coaching staff at Butler High School has been in place for two years and has two conference championships! The 2006/2007 team will all return with the exception of the lone senior. This coaching staff has done a nice job developing talent and they will be back next year!

    Well done Bulldogs!

No I was unable to make it down to Charlotte, but I was told that neither one had a great shooting night and Roberts at one point was benched because of her play. Whitaker still managed to pull down 22 boards but just couldn't manage to find the hoop. It was a tough game and we knew going in everyone would have to play well and shoot well to win. We are proud of the season they had and it looks like the future is still fairly bright with the way our underclassmen performed.
