Hard to post on here - I am getting hit from every direction. This board is heavily influenced by fans of your conference and I should have known to keep my mouth shut and remained a passive reader. I don't even have a daughter that plays.

My intent on posting was to congralute a very young team on defending their conference championship!

That's why I wanted to apologize. I, for one, enjoy reading other opinions. Guess I just don't always word mine too well.

Come on back and become a regular. This board is the best I have ever been on as far as knowledgable posters (you do get the occassional goofball) and we all seem to get along.

Your comments are welcomed and desired. We need someone else's point of view just to keep our heads from getting too big sometimes.. lol Seriously, let us know how you feel.

Have a great weekend. Hope I can get out to see some of the games.

Sorry you feel that way, please don't ever feel like you're not welcome to post your thoughts here because those who are here do respect your opinion. Being moderator on here for nearly four years I've always extended an olive branch to those in Charlotte (and other areas) in the hope that they would produce a faithful following of their own and be able to mingle with everybody else. For some reason the QC folks wanna follow football more than basketball and there's really nothing I can do about it.

Please don't take offence to my post bigham. I agree with bigdan the future looks very good for Butler as I believe you guys started 2 freshmen. I wasn't giving any credit to the refs for our victory. They have been awfull in every playoff game. Last night they were bad on both ends of the floor. I hope you and all the other fans from the Charlotte area will feel welcome to join us here on TBR. Bigdan does a great job of not letting this become another charlotte.com. If you know what I mean.{dead}:xyxthumbs:

BIGHAM.can you give us a little insight on Independence and harding. If McDowell makes it past Freedom one of them will be waiting.

Hey bigham don't feel like the lone ranger , you saw what I've been pointing out for a couple years.(and I get bombarded too...but it's all opinions on an open forum--so say what you want) She's a tremendous talent but gets 16-20 a game on "bunnies" because McD is just so good in transition and she outruns everyone, but doesn't normally look to do much outside the paint. The team that could take those points out of the picture will have a real shot, but if you don't you have NO shot a winning.
(i don't mind the rebuttals..I'm use to it now)

I have not seen Harding play in 2006/2007 so my opinions may not hold much value.

Harding is very athletic and will press with a very fast tempo. It will be a tough game, as every player can run and shoot. They will turn the ball over but will also cause turnovers. Athletically, they will match up well with McDowell. I am not sure about their depth. Their press will be interesting against McDowell, who has equal athletisism. I see a game with a frantic pace, turnovers and easy baskets when the press is broken.

Independence is athletic with one very tall center. The center does not score much but has a big presence on defense and rebounding. Athletic point guard and small forward (#3). The power forward is short but brings a lot of muscle. She plays the game on the ground but has a lot of success rooting around inside the paint. She will have a tough time covering the Mcdowell 3 or 4 spot in transition.

Harding is the tougher matchup, in my opinion.

ladiesbballfan; I don't know why you included me in your reply to Reporter but please don't drag me into your fight. I never talk bad about our coaches on here no matter if I like or agree with the coach. Our softball program may be down right now but I won't come on here and point fingers Thank you

It's not a fight. I've just been reading and wanting to e-mail or PM you to understand the reasoning for some of your posts, but I couldn't? Just e-mail me or send a PM if you want to discuss. Otherwise, it's no big deal. Someone was getting pummeled, and I felt like sticking up, or at least I wanted to find out more info. It's not really my business or concern, but I happen to know the person.

After I had talked to a South Meck person, I was really worried about Butler, but the truth is, Freeman was taken out of the game. I could sense her frustration early on. I really think she should have forced the issue earlier. She scored several in the second half when she started putting it up. Combine that with the speed and athleticism of Kelsea (21) and Kurie (25), and the whole team playing well, it's just a recipe for disaster, especially on the big home court.

Ali Ford presents a similar, but different challenge. She is used to this, and will still try to get her points. She also will penetrate and dish more. If her teammates step up, who knows what will happen.

As for Independence, I remember them from the Christmas tournament. Mostly, I remember Doomes-Stephens? being a fantastic player. We all remember Harding bringing down the mighty Anna Atkinson led Lady Titans a couple of years back. It was athletic ability and strength that did that. I think a couple of those players are still around (Foust for one). It should be an entertaining evening over in Icard tomorrow night!

Oh, and by the way, the refs do need to start calling fouls and traveling. Somebody is going to get hurt if they continue to stand around with their whistles locked up.
