so none responding to my earlier post denies Wash. started both Incidents? I was just giving readers factual info not filtered by Mcdowell glasses. FHS girls should not have retaliated but how it started is very clear-watch the tape! there's nothing whining in any post I've made.
I've never said 1 negative thing about Wash. game that wasn't straight out of the mouth of recruiters (which is suspect jump shot) ..so u can shut up about that too.
Dan has complained more about officials recently than anyone posting but when his team shoots 41 FT's to the others 14, he don't comment on that.
BB Fan is right in several of the points made.
(and u r right that continuation call was horrid)
and BTW -up until 3 FHS starters fouled out Ford was at 50% from field...after that they're were few other options.(no girl for MHS fouled out)
I wish McDowell team total success, but i hope this board doesn't want just Pro-Mcd comments, when I read about games I didn't see ,I prefer perspectives from BOTH sides.

    Proud Titan Fan

First off I want to say I am so proud of our Lady Titans. They played like true Champions tonight. But more than that I am proud of all the McDowell fans. Like someone said in and earlier post even the refs were amazed by our numbers. When you concider we were playing in burke county Freedom had a pitifull crowd show up. and yes the McDowell fans were a little quiet there in the 1st when we were down by 15 but boy did they come alive and become the 6th man in the 2nd half. And you can't say enough about our student body that come to the game. They were rocking all night long. Let's show Winston how we support our titans and remember even if we lose that we could have missed the pain but we'd have also had to miss the dance.:bluegrab:

You know, the intention of my original post last night was to give props to both McDowell and Freedom on playing one hell of a game and not to critique the game itself. Obviously if we have people from Charlotte (bbfan) getting on here and telling us just how good we are, then it must be true. My good friend Tony here did the very same thing...it was nothing but being positive towards both teams. But you, dribbles, get on here and have to make it an agenda every single time we play that Ali is a better player than Kurie simply because Kurie dosen't have a spectacular perimeter game. You also make it an agenda that we get all the calls. After watching us play five times, I've figured out that its time to give the debate a rest and just enjoy the talent on the court...that was my intention with the original post but unforunately you got on here (unprovoked) made it an issue again... bbfan, a neutral and un-biased person, made some great points just a couple posts ago

    1. People who drive draw fouls...
    2. Teams who can rebound well will draw fouls...
    3. Teams who shoot a majority of their shots from the perimeter are not going to draw a lot of fouls.
    4. Regardless of what's said on the court, you have to keep yourself composed.

I've got nothing more to say about the issue...I would like to congratulate Freedom on a good season, they have a good nucleus coming back for next year.

I agree --I have nothing else to say that hasn't been posted but DAN your provocation was in Omission, you stated Freedom self -destructed and NEVER mentioned the foul discrepency whch was the destruction.
That's why I posted, and will til u make being a Mcd fan a Prerequisite for sharing here.
Still a heck of a game, should be good prep for MCD: to win one they could have lost.

fist off titanfan03 never when u win 20 games and make it to the sectional finals it is not a disappointing season.our girls had a great year and didnt hold anything back last night.from the first game to the last they showed that lady patriot basketball is back and I dont see how we are gonna be disappointed next year when we have 3 starters returning ( 2 are sophmores an 1 is a freshman which is gonna be a real good player).Freedom will be pretty good the next 2 years.and ruckus u said they didnt have good leadership and u have said comments about our coach all year well i got to say to be is why dont u apply for a coaching job if u think u can do better.this team had 2 good senior leaders in cierra surratt and bri morrison. While i wish we were still playing i feel proud to have gotten to film every game this year and even though we aint playing these girls are winners and champions in my book.I cant wait till next year.

    the Tradition continues!

It seems that the tradition does continue. There will always be a rivalry between McD. and Freedom, and that will never change. But that is because we love our own kids so much.

I saw Bri upset a long time after the game ((she broke my heart), a coach trying to console her, and the McDowell seniors would have been doing the same thing if we had lost.

It is a game after all, but the competition reveals what we love, our kids.

I'm looking forward to this week, and next year, as we see all our kids, Freedom and McDowell, playing their hearts out.

    Go Titans.

Thanks, Wild Bill for saying this. As a fan of McDowell for 13 or so years, I have gotten to know some Freedom folks because of another sport here lately. Honestly, I was really torn sitting there watching that game. I don't even like being there anymore when these 2 play. 5 times is way too many, but it does make for a good setting for the kids and the coaches, but I bet they wish they didn't play each other that many times. Just like the ACC, I don't really see the point in a conference tournament. I would rather see them play more non-conference games. Oh well, please tell Brianna Morrison to hang her head high. She has exhibited nothing but class all the times I've seen her play. All you had to do was be there to know that something special was going on. The atmosphere completely changed after the first game. Both Charlotte teams are good, but that feeling of a "big game" just wasn't there. That doesn't mean our teams will always win, but it does make what you just said completely true!
