Hope we can do it this way each week. Davidson pulled out yet another nailbiter with a 11-10 extra inning win over Ohio. The Cats were down to their last out with no one on base but rallied to tie the score when freshman catcher JP Craven singled in the tying run in his first college at bat. Rob Wilson was strong through five but ran into trouble in the sixth. The bullpen did a great job going 4 2/3 scoreless. Davidson is now 4-0 for the first time in six years despite trailing in all four wins. The team will take on Mount St Mary's today and Radford tomorrow.

It will work, but we need some assistance from past TBR members whose son has moved to the next level.

We have members from NC State, UNC, WCU, Davidson, App State, Elon, Davidson, UNCC...etc, etc. We just need to have everybody to post.

I suspect all those folks still troll the HS board. Can you post an invitation over there to post college results here?

Davidson, Wofford and App State have all had great starts this season in the SoCon ... in fact, the entire league is doing well.

Coming into this weekend, the only two teams that were under .667 for the season were UNCG who had only played 3 games at Auburn, and Furman who had only played 3 games against Kentucky.

Elon beat #11 Miami last night down in Miami ... they have a very good shot a winning that important series on the road.

Western Carolina pounded UConn yesterday 16-5.

    ---------
In fact the only losses by the conference yesterday were to ACC/SEC Quality teams.

App State lost to Florida State, but they represented very well. Andress started for ASU and pitched fine. The final was 6-3, but the game was closer than that. FSU has been pounding out 12-16 runs a game ... gives you an indication of how well ASU did.

Georgia Southern was beaten by Southern Miss. 7-1.

The Citadel lost to Virginia Tech 5-4 in 11 innings.

There is some great baseball being played in the SoCon this season.

Cats move to 5-0 with the win. Braves, your boy Wilson hit an absolute BOMB to dead center. The competition is going to get much tougher but we will enjoy this while we can.

As the young folks say, "Rob Wilson is the bomb!"..pun intended

Baseballman- you will never meet a finer young man and his parents are the best. When you meet them, ask them who "Fishwrap" is?

Wake Forest has to find a Way to Close

Wake has dropped 2 straight to #18 USD in SanDiego. They got 1-hit Friday by a nasty lefthander (7 innings, 1hit, 10K's), then blew a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the 9th Saturday and lost 5-4. Their All-American Closer (Ben Hunter) gave up 4 straight singles to allow USan Diego to pullout the win. Tough Loss for the Deacs who are now 3-3 after taking 3-straight from Kent State to start the season. Garrett Bullock (Greenville Rose) will get the start in game 3 at USD to try to salvage the trip. Bullock is 1-0 so far w a 1.80 ERA.

Also, last Tuesday, Wake jumped out to a 7-0 lead v App State only to see ASU come from behind and take a 10-9 decision. Wake's Starting Pitching has been more than adequate. Their Relievers need to step it up!!

Providence High's Keith Mauney (Frosh) got his first two starts of the season v San Diego at 3B. He put the Deacs up 3-2 w a SacFly in Saturdays Game.

    Charlotte 13 - Campbell 2

Cory Lane led the 49er's with the offense and Zach Rosenbaum had his first start and picked up his first win. Charlotte is now 7-2 and will head to Wake on Tuesday. Hey Sr, if your going let me know. I may try to make the trip! James Madison will be in town for the weekend so it will be interesting to see Kulbacki from JMU.
Hey Braves, if the rain stops I hope to see the Bears tonight but it doesn't look good!
