Ok! With McDowell losing tonight, the all-conference team, along iwth player of the year and coach of the year, should be released. Does anyone have that information. Someone post when you hear it.

Coach Murray won coach of the year, they presented him the award at the last home game against South Meck. Don't know any other awards though.

I'm sure someone out there knows who is POY and the All-Conf. team is.
How 'bout it bigdan, dribbles, or Freedom SBall. Can any of you give up some info?

I posted this on Jan 17th on other thread and have heard nothing different since:
" word is that Ford was the top Vote getter in all-conf voting (most tallied pts from coaches) but Wash. was given POY in separate vote.
The list should be out soon but I doubt there's any suprises"

Question here...Who all votes for All-Conference? Is it coaches and school officials only? Or does media have a role in the voting process?

    Head coaches only
my understanding that teams can put up players as all conf possibilities, based on where you finish(mcd. could put up 4 where Wat. could put up 1).
then coaches rank their 10 best on the list, best #1 gets 10 pts, #10 gets 1pt ...then all the points are added.
Top 10 vote getters are all-conf.
separate vote for player of the year (this selection is more political since u can't vote for your kid but u might vote for someone that helps your kids position in voting, so buddy system comes into play which is unfortunate)

Media is used just for polls or all-tourney teams not all-conf.(at least in nw4a)

This was all good info , thanks for the insight. Dribbles are you saying that for POY a head coach can't vote for a player on their own team. I think that is an odd way of doing things.
When I posted earlier I didn't know the girls had to wait until the boys finished. I guess we'll all just have to wait a few more days.

Either one would be deserving,of course when you compare their head to head meetings and where each of them took their teams to I guess you have a clearer winner.

Ali is an awesome player, but Kurie deserves the award. Led her team to 4 out 5 five head to head meetings. Enough said.
