    Zach White

Zach is at North Davidson HS. I saw him several time this fall and recently at the Impact Showcase at Wingate. A lhp with a big frame. Zach is a mid 80's kid with a nasty deuce and a good change. His delivery is tough for hitters especially the first couple of times you see him. Zach has a ton of upside and should have a very good Jr year. He had a very good fall with the 17u Dirtbags.

    A couple more.

John Alphine , North Lenoir RHP OF who was 85 on the hill this past weekend at Wingate in not very good pitching conditions to say the least with the temp in the low 40's at best. John can flat out pitch. And he can hit as well. He will be going for his third straight 2A title with the Hawks this season. John is a hard nosed kid that understands how to play the game and he has the tools to play it at a very high level. Another kid that has tons of upside.

Bryce Grady , North Lenoir SS 2b 3b OF P , yes this kid can play about anywhere you want to put him. Bryce can flat out hit the baseball. He is one tough out. He also is gritty. He wont see the hill much at North Lenoir this year but next year he will. He showed one of the best breaking balls I have seen in quite awhile this weekend. He also had a great showing at the Impact Showcase.

Pratt Maynard , South Granville P 3b , Pratt is a stud who can flat out swing it from the left side. He hit 8 bombs last year and .364. He is a mid 80's guy that will bump it up there in the 87 mph range right now. Pratt is 5'11 arond 205 and built like a tank. He is a very hard worker and comes up big when you have to have him.

Nash Blackley , South Granville P OF , Nash is 6'3 200 lbs and was 84 at the Impact Showcase. His arm was rated the best by underclassman present at the event. Nash is raw at the plate but could really come on big this season as a Jr. I look for Nash to really have a good season for the Vikings. He continues to improve and is a very hard worker.

Travis Horn , Northern Durham C OF , Tough hard nosed ball player. He does an outstanding job behind the plate but probaly projects much better in the outfield. His throws have carry and are very accurate. He gets good reads on the baseball and understands the game. Travis is a tough out at the plate and uses the whole field. Should be another kid that breaks onto the scene in his Jr year for the Knights.

Craig Farmer , Northern Durham P 1b , Craig showed very well this weekend on the hill. He was 84 on his fb with a very tough delivery. A 3/4 look that is very tough to pick up. He showed a very good cb. Craig can also hit as well.

Bryan Bass, 09 Northern Durham 2b , Remember this name folks. He will be the next Tyler Hanover. Hits from the left side runs very well and can flat out glove it. This kid is a player. Led his team in avg last year as a freshman and made all conference as a freshman. Played on the Dirtbags 17u team this fall and was very impressive. Bryans dad played at Louisburg and NC State and Bryan learned the game well from pops. The top 09 2b prospect in the state in my opinion. Outstanding baseball player with a ton of tools.

    One more

Robert Long 09 Riverside HS Durham , Robert is a mif that shows great range and a very good arm. He can flat out run and gets out of the box. He shows a good approach at the plate and gets better everytime out. He should play a big role for Riverside which graduated several seniors off of last years team. Robert is going to be very good.

Myers is a very solid player from Durham. Runs well and has a good bat. I don't like to coach against him, he has not been an 'easy out' for us at all.

Tancini played this past summer for me, and some this fall. He has good tools, and is very versatile. Has played Catcher and OF, and hs the ability to hit with power and for average. Has a bright future ahead of him. I have enjoyed being around him.

    An 08 to check out

    Ethan Moyer- Watauga High School
This kid was the MVP of Watauga's team last year as a soph, in my book.
He can do it all; hit, throw, run, field, pitch.
Hitting-prototype leadoff hitter who is comfortable working deep into the count. Exceptional contact hitter who draws alot of BBs and has surprising pop for his size. The result- an OB% that defies belief.
Fielding-great hands, reactions, range and arm. A plus defender. Could play any position, and currently plays infield, but his tools may put him in CF in college.
Running-Don't know his 60 time, but he has to be well under 7.0.
He can not only fly but he gets up to top speed quickly. Great instincts on the bases.
    Routinely beats out infield hits.
Pitching-Yea, he can pitch too. Above average FB, nice curve, great control.
Phenomenal package of tools and off the charts in the character department.
Looks like a DI leadoff hitter to me.

I am sure some of these have been mentioned before but here goes:

Matt Batts- 09 from Mt. Tabor H.S.- Good two way players. Throws from the left side with good command. Should work his way into a great player

Alex Robertson-08-West Forsyth. Big, tall RHP, throws in mid 80's with a good hook. Is continuing to improve daily and will be an asset to the staff.

Garrison Lassiter-08-West Forsyth- SS- One of the top shortstop in NC- Has all the tools Look forward to seeing him for the next 2 years.

Tyler hanover- 08-East Forsyth- Great tools, hard nosed player, great future at the next level. Would want him on any team that I would start

Michael Zeblo-09- Raleigh Broughton- Great two way, switch hitter, all the tools to be a big time player

I am sure there are many more but I have seen these play and am very impressed with them.

    2008 Players

Two 2008 Whiteville High School Standouts:

Michael Wright - 6'5", right hand pitcher, throwing 88 mph fast ball (maybe faster?), a cutter that falls off the table, a 12-6 curve ball and outstanding change up. Also, plays SS/3B/1b and hits the long ball in practice....had three homeruns last year, hopefully will have a few more this year.

Lloyd Enzor - 6'1", catcher/pitcher....doing a good job catching....at pitching, fast ball around 86 and an okay curve ball and change up. But where he's powerful at is hitting...he has a homerun under his belt so far after one game and should have many more this year! This guy can flat out hit!!!!!!!!

    2009 Whiteville High School

Sprandon Mchoney - 6'1", Pitcher/SS - Just finished basketball so he hasn't been put in the mix yet but after a few weeks of practice he should be producing at all position. I'm predicting close to 90 fB!
