Davie won over starmount: Howard went 4-4 with 3 homeruns. Oswell 3-3 with a grandslam. 3 homeruns in a game is very very impressive.

    upsets?

were these 2 results considered upsets? In the past Cary always seemed to be very good, and Sanderson always so-so.
Apex normally very good and Millbrook maybe a step behind.

    Upsets? Could be!!!

I guess you could call these upsets. Cary is most definitely in a rebuilding year. Sanderson has been lucky to win more that 3 games per season in the last several years. Sanderson is starting 4 sophomores (M. Gagnon P C, C. Wolfe P 1st, K.Wood CF and K.Wigmore SS P-2009 Dirtbag) and 3 to 4 juniors. Out of these players, 6 of them played on the same AAU team together for several years. These young players are very strong. The winning pitcher and one of the leading hitters were both sophs. I am not sure about this year but next year they will be a team to watch.

Apex has lost 2 games in a row now, to Leesville and Millbrook. They have some pretty strong bats in Knox (UNC) and Thompson (ECU). They did score 7 runs in the first inning. I guess Millbrook just shut them down with their young lefty pitcher (J Harris-soph).

Apex plays Sanderson today if field conditions are not to wet. This will be a test for the young Sanderson team and a chance for Apex to get back on track
The Cap 7, for the most part is carrying a lot of young players on their varsity teams this year.
