West Forsyth stayed unbeaten with an 8-5 victory over perenial 2A powerhouse Forbush. If you have never played or seen Forbush, what a great place for a game. The field was in excellemt shape and the fans are right on top of the game.
My stats will only be what I remember because Coach Pope won't let me have he book( he loves his privacy).

    West:
    John Stamper 3 for 4 2 rbi's
    Greg Holt 1 for 2
    David McConnell 2 for 2

    Alex Robertson 4 IP 4 runs 3ER
Wesley McBride 3 IP 1 run Threw very well

    Forbush

Kolby Epley 3 IP He left the game with a 4-1 bullpen struggled to hold the league

Forbush has an outstanding fundamental ballclub. They will definetly be a force in their conference and state this year.

Rematch set for March 7 at West Forsyth

I cannot say I am too surprised by this. You don't lose eight starters and the entire pitching staff and just keep on keeping on. Swett pitcher Austin Eubanks tossed a CG three hitter at the Scots.

mincmi- I was real impressed with both of those guys. It was the 1st time I have seen them play.

and I believe Daniel Glenn could be a "special" pitcher. He needs to stop being concerned with K's and just focus on throwing strikes. When he learns this, he will be fine. The young man has a lot of potential. It's just a matter of tweaking his mechanics and work on the mental part of pitching. I offer this opinion simply because I feel he can be one of the best.

    Thursday... Northwood 9, W. Harnett 4

Timmons gets the win on the mound as Northwood gets back on the winning track. Highlight of the game was Northwood's center fielder, Clay Martin(soph), throwing out a runner at the plate... twice! The underclassmen are starting to look a little more comfortable on varsity. Conference play starts next week.

    Lake Norman 5 Fred T Foard 2

Another good outing for Lake Norman as they defeat the Tigers. The brothers Rothlin (Trent 4, Chad 3) accounted for all of Foard's hits. Foard left 12 runners on base and struck out 14 times while wasting many scoring opportunities. Next up for the Tigers is Maiden to begin conference play.
