I am in search of a new bat and wanted some thoughts from people that have used them. Is the money worth it at the top of the line?

best thing to look for is a new last year model. you can cut your cost by close to half and get a top of the line bat. good luck

Agreed. New bats come out just before the College World Series. So just before that you will see some bats go on sale. Some of the popular bats at this time are the Easton Stealth, L Slugger XO-Grid, Omaha series. I have found them well worth the money. However, if you can hit, you can hit with anything but some bats appear to have more "pop" than others.

It's all in the eyes of the beholder....they all (L Slugger, Easton, TPX etc) have their top of the line that you can spend in excess of $400 for them. I agree that last years model is more "pop" for your buck...I know a lot of guys have ordered them from E Bay....or do like I did...son why don't you borrow one of your team mates bats.

    Yes Braves, I admit I'm cheap....LOL

A few websites to visit are:

    baseball warehouse
    eastbay
    direct sports
    baseball express
    ebay

A word of advice. Keep your receipt and the warranty. Most have a 400 day warranty and I've taken advantage of it. For the last 4 years I have had to get one replaced due to dents. All the bat companies have good service in my experience.

Many kids I have seen this year are hitting the Nike Torque or Nike Strobe. They both seem to have good pop and the price is reasonable. As stated there are many good websites. Western Athletic and Baseball express seem to have the largest supply and choices. good luck with your choice but do the fundamentals to prepare. It's not the bat, it's the man holding it that makes the difference. Good luck!!

    blem bats

my favorite bat right now is the easton connection. red/black and i think its a composite bat now. the connection is the step below the stealth. you can find it for about $179 to 169.

i've been working on a shoestring budget for years and one thing you can try is blem bats. the bats are fine there is just something wrong with the paint, a smudge, scratch, etc.

you can find these bats on some other websites. two i recommend are

    www.softball-bats.org
    then look for closeout bats

another good site for bats is

    www.arccloseouts.com

those guys have very good deals

hope that helps others because it has really helped me. have a good day and hit em where they ain't
