    i don't know about the top 10...
but i think north lenior has got to be #1

cb aycock is going to be very good

    rose has a strong lineup

how can you argue with anything jason mills at dh conley does, he's only won back to back state titles in 4a and then 3a

princeton pound for pound is one of the best teams around

pinecrest has a good looking squad

    What about Whiteville High School?
They have a good start going even though they are rusty in the field as all teams probably are this early in the season!!!!!!!!

    FAYETTEVILLE AREA TEAMS

I found a link to the baseball preview in the Fayetteville Observer for the Fayetteville area teams. To see it, please use the following link:

    http://www.fayobserver.com/article?id=256048

Thought you may want this information, though it consists of previews mainly for Fayetteville area 4A and Independent teams.

    Too early to tell

Its just too early to tell who they will be. There are the obvious choices but alot can and will happen. Who will stay healthy? Who will have guys step up that no one knows about right now? Who has improved from last year? Who will not play up to the level that they played at last year? Team chemistry? Discipline problems ie grades etc. Coaching. Who will get better as the year goes along and who will not? Yes it is a fact that some teams come out early looking great and fade and some teams start slow but keep getting better as the year goes along. Clutch? Who has the guys that step up in the clutch situations. And who has the guys that hit bombs in the 10-0 wins but go 0-4 in the big games. So many things to consider when you start saying who is the best etc etc. Im willing to bet that there will be 3 or 4 teams by the end of this year that no one was talking about that no one will want to play come playoff time. It will play itself out thats for sure. Well coached teams with hard working players with some decent talent can beat anyone on any given day. Its just too early to tell.

conley had two good teams the past couple of years but they also had alex white who is doing the same thing for the #1 team in the country at carolina. if they dont have white they dont have 2 rings. bottom line!!!!!

ROSE is young....lots of juniors this year. should be another good season though. coach ronald 'rv' vincent is at 699 wins going for a milestone 700 later this week.

new hanover has a good pitcher.....mincey i think is his name. i dont know how good the team is but mincey is goin to play at ecu next year. ROSE has split w/ them so far this season.

    Lee County

Lee County has beaten Pinecrest twice...
    10-0 and 7-0...
They have two high quality starting pitchers, Furl and Brewer, and more arms if they need them...

    Fuquay-Varina is also very strong....

    conley

alex didn't pitch for conley during the state title run in his junior year. aubrey edens (app state i think) pitched a bunch for them that year. last year yes alex was a stud. but my point was coach mills has done it two years in a row, how can you not call them a favorite.

by the way whats more impressive to me is that conley has won back to back state titles and haven't won a conference championship either year.

    impressive

Yes, Coach Vincent at Greenville Rose HS. Going for win # 700 now.
36 years of HS coaching. (Is it all at Rose??)?
    Winning percentage for those 36 years: 79 percent! That's winning 8 of every 10 games for 36 yr's. !
    5 State Championships.
Something to ponder: His first state championship was in 1975, and still coaching in 2007!

You young bucks out there coaching now: will you still be out there after 36 yr's?
really this kind of dedication may be rare now??
