    Central-d
I don't known to who you are getting your info. from, but I have been close to SC softball program for years(long before fastpitch)and I will say that this past week and after team was selected, that the team has had some of the best prractices that there has been at the school.
Now let me say, sure I wish one of the girls that choose not to play, had joined the team, but, that was her choice, and she is the one that will miss the experience of playing her sr. year .
The assistant coach working with team is as good as they come, (by the way he is one of the few people that have played softball in this area, so he knows the game very well) he and the head coach work very well together they actually like and respect each other...
Now the weakness of our team will be in the circle, as the previous coach did not develope any replacements for a starting Sr. this past season, our young kids are working hard to develope, but what they lack is experience at the varsity level.
Sorry to make this such a long post, while I have not been a member long, I have been reading as a quest for a while, and I just wanted to clear up some misgivings that have surronded our program....

PS: remember the name, Chastian Hall, she is a 8th grader, left handed pitcher, and is now throwing in the mid-fifties, with very good control and is developing several pitches, is projected by sr. year to be throwing above sixty......

LADIESBBALLFAN; Please show me where I have said something bad about the SC softball coach. You continually say that I'm against the team and nothing could be further from the truth. I have posted on here for SC for several years and always have tried to post the good along with the bad for all our sports without bashing our coaches. I just try to be honest about our scores, games and our programs in general. Kindly keep your biased remarks about me to yourself. Thank you

So we get the correct information at Watauga posted, South Caldwell's current record is 2-1??? On AC Reynolds website, they list South as 1-2.

Hey, McDowell won 3-2 against Owen today...

Taryn Brown (McDowell) had a pretty good day throwing the ball going 6 1/3 innings, 5 K's, 2 Walks...she did give up 6 hits. McDowell only got four hits in the game but took advantage of a couple throwing errors by Owen and scored all three of their runs.

For me this is the first time watching softball at the high school level, it's funny how one little mistake can have a huge bearing on the outcome.

Thanks, Dan. I hope you grow to love softball. It is a great sport. It's hard to match the hype and intensity of Lady Titan basketball, but when it gets warm, there's no better place to be than at a softall game, or especially a tournament.

You're right about the mistakes. I also think you'll find that when runners are on base, the mistake factor goes through the roof. For some reason, routine plays become not so routine. Anyway, when the pitching is decent, there's usually not an abundance of hitting, so whoever plays the better defense (mistake free) usually comes out on top. I'll be up there for a game or two, see you then and looking forward to it!
