I've been hearing a lotta hype about the new composite bats that are coming out, so in the interest of our little group here, i ordered one to analize. fiirst, the price was advertised at 270.00 to 290.00 . second, breakin period was 250-300 hits at soft toss- with the specification of no pitching machine balls. Now, the more you hit it, the better it sounded and the farther it went. We've now hit over 500 balls with this, it's gotta be broken in by now, but it doesnt seem to have anymore zip than the double wall bat???? Also have been told that the composite bats are only good for one travel ball season (or two hs seasons) and they go dead?????

Let me hear your opinions on this and answer these questions in your posts:

    1) is it worth the extra money to swing a bat that is one ounce lighter?
    2) would you spend that exta money for a bat that may only last one year?
    3) how long has your dd's composite bat held up before going dead.

my only experience with a composite bat was with a deme that lasted only one season when we were 14u.

    1) seems to be a good bat (Easton that I got from East)
    2) not worth the retail price (East asked $85 for his bat, used 1 HS year, was good deal for me)
    3) have heard 2 seasons also, so this one will tell the tale next season.

She likes it, but is in love with her Rocket Tech that I got from you. She is using it with faster pitchers since it is lighter. Plus Rocket Tech holds their value. I sell hers every December on Ebay for Christmas, get $125-140, and buy the new one for $249 from Cheeze.

Bought DD a used Catalyst last season, so she wouldn't use RT bat in cold weather. The Catalyst is over 2 yrs old, & it will still put em over the fence.I would say half of her HR"s have been with that old Cat. So don't know bout the 2 season life of composite. Both these bats, & the Easton are good bats, but IMO it's who is swinging that bat that makes the ball go.

DD's both have the RT's (05, 06) as well as the catalyst and the synergy. They both agree that the cat wasn't worth the price and the synergy is ok but for the money, Rocket Tech all the way. Both have had consistant out-of-the-park home runs from the RT. So I think it just depends on the girl.

I talked to a sales rep for the Rip-It Elite.....he told me straight up the 07 Rocket Tech out hits it.....yes,that's from a Rip-It rep....take it for what it's worth....
On a personal note, we played a High School here in SC who had about 4 of them (Rip-Its)....They hit some "BBs"...no doubt, but I have also seen BBs off the 07RT.....Of the girls I've talked to, they say the Rip-It "feels lighter", and they feel as though they get to the ball quicker, but several have also told me the RT hits harder????
I'd say you can't go wrong with either bat?
