    Upstate SC

    Hello,
Not sure what info you are looking for?? Upstate 4A is one of the toughest conferences in the state. Gaffney, Boiling Springs, Hillcrest and Byrnes - Any one of these teams can come out on top. Mauldin could have also been a contender, but had some off season practice violations. Their head coach was fired and post season play canceled.

    Welcome aboard!

exactly what we're looking for and very interested in hearing your insight but 'ole Slingit' is the Indian Land side of the Upstate. Glad you showed up to keep us update on your end of SC. I am on the border of NC/SC and get to a few games a year down there...Any key games worth noting on ones calendar in the near future??

Several of the upstate teams will be playing in the Lexington Wildcat (SC) tournament this weekend, which of course is nonconference, but should be very interesting. Next week is big, as the "contenders" will all be playing each other. As it stands now, Hillcrest is undefeated. Byrnes 2 losses, Boiling Springs 2 losses, Gaffney 3 losses. Boiling Springs still has to play Hillcrest twice, and Gaffney & Byrnes one more time. On any given day, any one of these teams can (and has) beat the other and almost always by a 1 or 2 run differential. They are almost always great games to watch, so I'd say you can pick any one of them and you'd get your $3's worth. Even though Mauldin cannot compete in regions, etc., the way I understand it is that games played against them in regular season count for or against a team, and they have definitely made things interesting.

We also live fairly close to the border. Our DD actually plays travel ball in NC!

    region II 4a sc

Region II 4a is very tough this year......Gaffney, Brynes, Hillcrest, or Boiling Springs can all play very well. My DD played NC travel ball as well this past summer. Served her well, third highest batting avg (so far) on team...but batting 7th? (Go figure).....
