    2 of my favs are not even up there. Pride of the Yankees (And I hate the Yankees, but the movie is great) and the Jimmy Stratton Story. On that list I have to go with Field of Dreams and the Sandlot. If you ran with a neighborhood gang (the good kind) how can you not love the Sandlot.

    When was Finding Buck McHenry out?

    Any movie that accurately depicts the Negro leagues has got to be good.:2thumbsup::2thumbsup:

    The world needs to know more about the Josh Gibsons, the Satchel Paiges, the Cool Papa Bells, the Oscar Charlestons, and the Buck O'Neills so they can finally get the props they've deserved for so long.

    Gotta go with Bull Durham--Had at least five North Carolina minor league stadiums in it including old Municipal Stadium in Rocky Mount, Durham Athletic Park, Fleming Stadium in Wilson, War Memorial Stadium in Greensboro and McCormick Field in Asheville.

    Finding Buck McHenry (2000)
    When an 11 year old boy (Michael Schiffman) gets cut from his Little League baseball team, he sets out to form his own team. He persuades a school custodian (Ossie Davis) to be the coach. As the new coach starts working with the team, his knowledge leads the boy to suspect that the man is really an ex-Negro League legend who disappeared from sight years ago. The kid sets out to find out the truth about the man's background. Ossie Davis' real-life wife also appears in the film as his wife. Former Chicago Cubs' star, Ernie Banks, also appears as a Negro league star. Written by John Sacksteder {[email protected]}

    MUST SEE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I just watched one of the best movies I have ever seen... Facing the Giants. Though it is a football movie, I would recommend that everybody sees it!! It brought tears to my eyes in the end, and puts things in their proper perspective.

    Monty Stratton was his name (played by Jimmy Stewart) and it was a good movie. We actually had a Sandlot where I grew up (like most people my age). The movie brought back a lot of great memories......which, unfortunately the new generations can't relate. Well, maybe Braves and I can. Had forgotten about "61"!
    Very well done, and very acurate.
