Freedom has improved each year and continues to do so. I would also say Mcdowell has improved a lot from last year though I've only seen them once. Watagua has gotten a little better also
East Burke has fell off this year. Had a couple key players leave the team after the start of the season.
South Caldwell has taken the biggest fall. They have always been a contender and could beat anyone at any time but not this year. Could be their first losing season

Freedom has improved a lot over last season and of course previous seasons.

Alexander has improved- they lost Pierce- which hurts, but the team is overall better.

McDowell looked good and continues to play well

Watauga works hard and has some good talent- I just think playing in those condiditons hamper them during workouts

ACR was better than everyone thought and played well

South is good, but just not enough fire power

East Burke has struggled the last few years

Freedom is without a doubt the most improved team in the conference.
I would say Alexander is about the same as the last couple of years and not quite as goood as I expected them to be this year but still good.
Watagua keeps improving a little every year and this year is no exception.
East Burke wasn't to bad last year but are really bad this year. I think they need a change there. Coach seems to have some problems getting them to work as 1 team.
Ditto for SC. This was said by many to be our best group of talent to come in when they were freshmen. They're some really good athletes here and it just seems that they haven't jelled as a team. To much talent here to be this BAD. Probablly time for a change here before it goes beyond repair
I haven't seen Mcdowell or Reynolds but hear they are both pretty solid

hey sbmom,i spoke to coach bolick and ask him about his team and he said that ac is a very young team that is making young mistakes, and when they cut those mistakes out this team will start to roll. last yrs team didnt start coming into their, own till they lost 1-0 to freedom(a game which they left 14 runners on base) after that loss, they went on a 9 game winning streak that put them 1 game away from a trip to the state championship!!!imo when bolicks babies grow up, you better look out!!!!

It's hard to hear someone say they are really bad but EB has been struggling the past 2 or 3 years. It's a real shame because we have some tallented players. :34: It's a young team this year with only 3 seniors now. A change definitely needs to come but exactly what is the question.
I will say this, they are a great group of girls.

IF you have the talent and it is not showing up on the field that leaves only one person to blame and that is the coach. Not saying that is your case because I don't know your situation well enough to make that assesment. I do know that is the problem at SC. Loads of talent there but the coach just is not a good fit and they are hurting. I'm not bashing the coaches but for me if a player isn't getting the job done you make a change same goes for coaches. I will say this it takes a very special "young" woman to successfully coach high school age girls. Girls hate to be bossed around by another female not much older than they are and it makes it hard on a young coach

Everyone knows Freedom has improved alot and I agree. Congratulations to coach Fox on a job well done. He has really done a great job with the program over there. Also I think congatulations should go to Watagua coaching staff. Not only have they worked to have a better team but also a better all around program and facilities. I think Mcdowell is up a little also. Reynolds and Alexander seem to be about par with their last couple of years which proves that they have a solid program year in year out. East Burke is struggling this year and I think they need some serious travel ball teams over there before the school team can compete. We (SC) have taken the biggest fall from previous years. We have always had a strong program every year so I hope this is just a bad year and not a trend
