Good game. Ardrey Kell is going to be a pretty good team in the conference and they have a pretty good hurler in K. Lang. She threw a good game against Providence and can swing the bat. Kylie Russo had two hits (a former Panther who went to AK upon opening) and played a good fill-in at SS.

Lauren Habig got her first start on the Panther Varsity today and pitched for the second time on Varsity this year. Temporary abscences from Quant due to family, and Sheats being away on school trip along with a hand injury allowed this kid to step up big. Habig scattered seven hits, got lots of groundball outs and some key K's when needed. Providence played very good defense and their SS, Katakozinos, was sharp. Diving, turning double plays, you name it...she did it today. Junior Catcher had the hit to score senior CF after she stole 2B for the Panthers only and game winning run in the 3rd inning. Providence had 0 errors, AK charged with 2.

The Panthers had three JV players starting for them today and one player in a cast...those kids are doing something right to overcome all the injuries and obstacles against them right now. Currently they are 7-1, 3-0 & 1 TBD vs S. Meck (that 15 inning game to be finished @ PHS on 4/13) in conference.

I know many of you follow a lot of different programs out there, but if you have the time, catch a game, these kids are a lot of fun and finding ways to win. Thanks Ladies for a fun and prosperous season!

Great day of softball! I didn't keep stats on games, but there was one perfect game that I know of. Danielle Glosson (North Davidson) pitched a perfect game against Weddington.

barbershops? you mean the good wholesome barbershops where i could watch my father in the chair on a sat. morning? we should all be so lucky! times are a changin, as the song says, but give me and our families the down home community peace that unfortunatley is passing us by. play safe

 

hard work pays off

i know shay. she entered into the fastpitch arena, as most girls do, with desire but lacking in talent at ...oh lets say 10. by talent i don't mean to imply that she would be a bench sitter. THINK TBR, i'll bet most of us can remember the athlete in 8th grade who could shave his beard. my point only is to clap out loud for a kid who must have looked in her mirror and placed goals on herself. is she jenny finch? name a kid who is. SHAY has earned respect from all of us down east. i'm sure the west is equally proud of all the kids who bust thier buts to move forward.
