I just like giving these kids that work so hard some recognition for the great effort they put in and results they acheive. Nobody will know about them otherwise.

Exactly...the sole purpose of this board.

You know this story wossa, but I'm going to repeat it. When we 1st started this board a player for Ragsdale, JK Whited, was playing for On Deck during the fall. I kept reporting how good JK was and how great he was in managing a staff. This kid was catching Daniel Bard, Robert Woodard, Ryan Marion, Matt McSwain, etc, etc. and I don't ever recall JK having a passed ball.

His mom was told of TBR and talking about JK. She was so excited that there was a place talking about how good her son was. She had rarely seen any articles in her area about JK, so she became one of our 1st guests. I knew at that point we were doing the right thing.

I have to admit that it is painful to hear about the position the team has taken considering they were instrumental of why we started this board in the first place.

Close one #3 for the week!!

IT will after this one!! Although MRSCOACHEVANS puts the clippers to my head weekly so it doesn't show....

Person 2, East Chapel Hill 1

    PER 100 100 0 2 5 0
    ECH 000 000 1 1 3 0

    WP - Jeremy Peed (3-0) CG, 1 run, 3 hits, 4 K's, 3 BB (5.1 innings no-hit ball)
    LP - Teddy Quinn CG, 2 runs, 5 hits, 3 K's 2 BB

    Leading Hitters:
Person - Jeremy Peed (1-3, RBI), Craig Reid (1-3, run), Elliott Tolley (1-2), Ricky Crabtree (1-3)

East Chapel Hill - Rob Moore (1-3, run), Teddy Quinn (1-2, 3B, RBI)

    NOTES:
Peed 5.1 innings no-hitter, Great defensive game.
Bottom of the 7th, 0 outs, runner on 1st. East Chapel Hill Batter hits a shot that appears to be a 2 run HR to tie the game. After he crossed home plate, our catcher realized that he did not touch the plate, appealed and the umpire called the batter out, negating the tying run. Peed was able to get the next 2 outs quickly to end the game. I have never had that happen in a game I participated in though it remindds me of West Forsyth vs South Meck on 2004. What a way to end a well played game by both teams!

Unbelievable..and after Coach P reads this, he will have nightmares for days.

This has been a wild, intense week for you Coach. Great to be on the winning end, but you know what they say, " Good things happen to good people"

    yep

and here I was living a couple miles from the field and didn't even know they had a team. Never a huge baseball fan and there is never any baseball stories in the News & Record. You are what prompted me to start going to games. Once I saw how much I got for my $4 I was hooked.

And JK was amazing to watch. Being able to sit 15 feet behind home plate you get an appreciation for what a catcher can do and JK was one of the best. I'll make sure to give his little brother Mike (freshman on the JV at 2nd base) plenty of accolades as his career progresses.

I'm not disagreeing with either of you. I write freelance articles for a small fee for a couple of sports sites. You don't have to sell me on the value here. That's why I post my name in my signature line. I never want to be accused of hiding anything.
