Saw where former Foothill Phantom Aaron King struck out, like 15 Hickory Red Tornadoes on Friday night. Does anyone know where is is going to school next year. I follow this stuff pretty closely and haven't heard any chatter at all. With Rothlin (another former Phantom) on the FTF team there has to be lots of exposure for AK.

recon whoever you are obviously ARE trying to be a funny guy. Alas, I hate to inform you that Mr. King is not going to work, will attend Surry for a year under Coach Tucker and then transfer to ASU. Sorry if that disappoints you, and I do think you owe Aaron an apology. TBR is for good comments not sidecracks.
Aaron has received alot of exposure along with his friend Trent Rothlin. Both will be playing Dirtbags this summer. He has also had alot of interest from PRO Scouts who follow them game by game.
To the Captain, I am sorry to be so out of touch - AS a former Phantom parent I should do better, and I thank you for your interest. Things have been rather crazy around here, with scouts calling and college coaches also.
I promise to keep in better touch, and thanks again for your kind comments.

Congrats on Aaron's committment to Surry! I know you must be proud. It should be a nice experience there. Hope things calm down some at the house so he and the Tigers can continue to improve.

Certainly there is no question in Aaron's ability to pitch. He is a tall, lanky, lefthander that can bring the heat. What are these big time programs thinking not going after him? I heard rumors of App St. and UNC, but i guess Ms Smith would know better than me. Is he committed to ASU after Surry or is that just what he hopes to do?

    good luck with surry :clover:

Sorry...I just saw this thread or I would have pruned it quicker. I remember Red Bear enlightening me about Aaron King last year. Surry is absolutely a baseball factory with outstanding coaches. To spend a year or two with Coach Tucker and Vernon is an absolute treat, baseballwise. It appears that Surry has landed another outstanding player...congratulations to Aaron and to the King family- your journey is just beginning.

Sidenote- outside of the fact that Surry is located near one of the prettiest cities in the country (Mt. Airy), they also have Slappy's- "Home the best Pork Chop sandwich in the World" and worth the drive to go get one.

This is the perfect trip...Slappy's, Surry game (a beautiful field), watch some outstanding baseball, talk to Coach Vernon and get a pork chop to go:cheer:

Glad to hear that Aaron has commited to Surry. I didn't mean to upset you Mrs. King, I was just playing with my ole' buddy. Sorry for the uprising.:hamer:
