    Game

Butler beat Providence today on a two hitter by Ashton, one was a home run by Leah Quant. I believe score was 11-1 but not sure.:2guns:

    Conference...

We have not played Myers Park (got them this Thurs) or Weddington. We had our tails handed to us today by Butler in our first meeting. Butler is very solid as usual. I wish our kids had played a better game so we could really gauge where we are in comparison, but it is tough to tell after today. Both our pitchers had not thrown in quite a while due to injury and a death in the family. Our defense really broke down which was disappointing, but I know the kids will bounce back. Leah Quant did hit a nice shot to LCF, but Ashton had the upper hand on a two hitter and multiple K's. Butler hits the ball hard, they run, they have good pitching and play defense..they do the little things. We knew that going in and we were also doing the little things till today. Its OK, the kids will continue to get better. Butler has the championship and bragging rights until someone takes it away. They will only get better when the couple of injured kids that they have return as well.

Weddington I am sure will be solid again because as far as I know they did not lose much, but so far it looks to be fairly similar to last year’s conference standings. Ardrey Kell might take somebody’s spot amongst the top 4-5 teams from what I have seen. They do have a pretty good pitcher and a few solid players. Weddington will be a good test for us as well, but we do not see them till after Spring Break.

Thanks for following our conference. Lots of good programs and good kids.

    RS Central...........7
    East Rutherford.....6

    11 innings

    WP - Rachel Stevens

East seemingly in control leading 6-2 in the 6th, then the home team rallied for 3, then tied it in the 7th.

Several young players contributing for both teams in this nail biter.
