    summer college ball ?

A year or two ago, didn't I hear about a proposed college summer league for fastpitch softball in the Carolinas and Va.? similar program as the summer collegiate baseball leagues?

Any word, is this ever going to get off the ground?

    Now wait a minute!

In a thread I posted earlier everyone was on the wagon of "if they pay the same money they play", shouldn't matter if they want to go to next level or not! Seems as though some of you have trouble sticking with an opinion!
I personally think the kids that are already signed have just as much right to play TB as anyone else! Teams need the leadership and they need to keep their skills sharp and their conditioning up to speed! Pitchers especially need to keep pitching! Yes, they can practice but that is not the same as facing batters! There are batting cages, but that isn't the same as a live pitcher!
Is this just another example of what ever is good for me at the time?
I'm just saying some need to decide how they feel about a situation and stick by that!
As far as getting hurt playing, a person can hurt themselves getting out of bed in the morning! One shouldn't live in a marshmellow! Live life, play safe but play! JMO!

Okay,I respect your opinion, but I don't think getting out of the bed,and playing softball is an APPLE FOR APPLE, but YES you are right, you can get hurt anywhere or anytime...I still think you need to use common sense, and rest your body at some point...:blauwoog:

    Just from our experience:
Running-lots and lots and lots of running-everyday. Some weight-training.
The coach didn't care if our daughter played travel ball the summer she graduated or not. He said she would get plenty of practice once she got to the college.

Our daughter had to do lots of running, push ups, sit ups, and stadiums.
