    just a thought

if pitcher #2 is playing in, say, rightfield, would a coach throw her to the wolves so to speak by not giving her the proper time to warm-up? just a thought. play safe.

    not east

call east what you want. area/towns i mean here. can i take this approach please, w/o bashing HS coaches personally? N Pitt..faith sutton, DH Conley..hobbs, brown, wainwright, Harnett Central..williford, williford, nobles, taylor, lane. i can go on and on. Great ballplayers don't just drop out of some tree and land in butler, or wake forest. they are developed over time. that time came from thier parents money and the TB coaches who gave thier time. thanks to all of the coaches who give thier time. we down east just seem to have...lets say, non TB coaches involved. i wish things were dif. play safe.

'you dont say'... but you need to Know that here in Western NC, some HS coaches know FP Softball and dont coach TB and give alot of their time/knowledge to the Players throughout their region!

we develop players on a daily basis here and its good to see that ENC is too!! best of luck to our eastern buddies this HS Season!!

    props to HS coaches

i'd like to think that my bold reference to HS coaches was not to be looked upon as a literal "all HS coaches are dumb". my post was only intended to peek a response from all of us, yes all, who are just damn frustrated at the lack of knowledge that unfortunately hits us game after game. play safe.

All programs are not the same

There certainly are a few TB coaches out there who ain't the brightest bulb in the pack just like not all HS coaches are the best. But one thing's for sure, those great TB players who play school ball for schools such as Butler, C. Cabarrus, N. Davidson, SW Randolph, Kings Mountain, Forbush, C. Davidson, E. Surry, N. Moore (and the list goes on and on) sure didn't learn it all practicing TB one day a week and playing 250 games on the weekend!

If you have problems with your HS program, don't assume they're all just like yours.

Agreed to a point---but half of those teams that you mentioned above don't even need coaches per say because of the remarkable talent that they possess from the TB experience...again I want mention names to keep from being banned, but too many high school coaches are taking credit for wins, loses, State Titles,etc....and it should be rewarded to the kids that are playing that "DUMB TB" all year round as you imply in your last statement that sharpens their skills...the more you practice the better you'll be...Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, etc....didn't get good by playing from March to June...they play all year round to sharpen their skills...also the quality of play that is implicated by some of the lesser talented high school players do not better the more skilled players it usually brings them down to their opponents level....in TB at least 85% of the time you face the better competition...is everybody good in TB???---NO!!!---but the majority of your college bound players do play TB---YES Or NO ???? Also I'm willing to bet that if these high schools that you mentioned above were not participates in TB their skills would not be as sharp, and you might not see the State Titles that they possess because of lack of play on the off season ( Summer )...I've over the years busted my butt with a team that has been very successful over the last 4-5 years...it just bothers me when someone even appears to put down something that I've spent Summer after Summer on while others were goofing off at the Beach,etc......trust me without the TB experience you wouldn't have the talent in high school that you do,and there would be more headaches for the high school coaches trying to get them in shape...TRUST ME !!!!

    OFF TOPIC

Could we PLEASE get beak on topic? I beleive the thread is titled Why no closers in fastpitch. Why does every thread have to turn into either a TB vs HS coach or a pick on a hs deal? Im gettin tired of seeing good posts get ruined by this and will do all I can to keep them on topic.
    Thanks
    Ray
