with all due respect honker i think you are alittle off base with a few of your reportings . now im not one to dispute alot of things but id just like to give my few cents. Regarding the issue with the grades, as of right now there is only one kid that is not eldigable, however you are correct on the part about him making up a test. if all goes well he should be back, the other two boys were on the wrong side of some miscalculations by the AD and downtown. Now i agree its unexcusable to even be that close to not making passing grades, you have to practicaly try to not make grades to do so and as sad as it is and as much as it hurts the individuals in the long run, lots of athletes do get special treatment and i for one feel that this type of behavior has no place in high school athletics. school should come first and formost.
You can blame the coach for anything you want, that wont help. You cant give the players credit for all the good things and blame the coach for anything negative. it just doesnt work that way. yes hes had to learn alot and its been tough for everyone, but he is making changes, he is learning what it takes to win and i belive he is making the right decisions. today he announced to all the underclassmen that he was not going to return as a football coach next year so he could focus soley on baseball. its just one step taken and i know more will come, but atleast in my opinion he's headed in the right direction.
With moving the players around and such, i dont think anything needs to be said. just about any player on this team can play any position and not just play it but play it well. how about someone just step up and make a play, get a clutch hit. yea anyone and there mom can speculate on how things should be but none of that matters. its time for everyone to stop thinking and analyzing so much and just go and play the game we all know and thats players, coach's, parents, shoot even teachers throw their ideas in. lets just play ball and support and encourage OUR team, its never too late to turn something around.[IMG]

Guys...please keep this in mind. It's one thing to be critical of the coach, but is it fair for a HS student to read on the internet something that is not flattering about them? As a parent, I'm sure you understand what I am saying.

This board has never allowed individual players to be singled out in a negative way. Keep this in mind when you post.

on another note, Sophemore Beau Tench should be getting more playing time then he does now. Hes got a good bat and is good behind the plate, plus they need to let him get comfortable seeing as how he will be the starter next year.

South still has some really good ball players this year and a competitive team....but, there are quite a few teams with a little more talent in the SW 4A....South has always played hard and always will....I think some of the blame can be attributed to the quality of teams in the conference....let the seniors try and enjoy their final year and not let it get ugly...there are some quality kids on the team....to much of this and that, and to much talk...let the kids play baseball..if they are giving it their all, then praise them for it, not blame it on anyone or anything...

undeniably, some better teams this year, which is a change from past years! they will still compete as always....
    just an opinion...
